Worst restaurants: Pitt Grill (should be called "Armpit" Grill!), Arlington Steakhouse, Candlelite Inn, Bobby Valentine's. Those should all be bulldozed! Best restaurants: Sushi Zone, Rockfish Grill, Black-Eyed Pea, Southern Recipes Grill, Cacherel.

BEST: Asia Bowl, Marquez Bakery, Italian Villa, Mac's, Airways, BJ's, Abuelos, Boo-Boo's, Cokers, Atlanta Bread Co, Tonys. I think no one can go wrong with any of these places, and I hope they stick around and stay yummy!(Rockfish was delicious, just heard it was closing due to not enough business)

WORST: Ho ho's, La Isla, Jason's Deli, Any Chili's or Applebees, Mr Jims, almost all the restaurants around "downtown", most of the chain restaurants, concur wit hthe "Buffet" sentiment. Blech.

The question is about restaurants in Arlington, not FW.

There are, I'm sure, literally hundreds of filthy, crummy places in Arlington that deserve a place on the WORST list, since the city's code enforcement and health departments are pathetically lacking any degree of quality enforcement.

However, I name here a few of the (supposedly) more upscale establishments:

WORST:

Chili's - any location. Commercial food, servers are unkempt and unprofessional - go here only if you can't think of any other place to eat and don't mind a lot of noise, usually from bratty kids whose parents are oblivious

On the Border - any location. Same as Chilis'- both are owned by Brinker's, a company that specializes in cheap quality everything

Gloria's - Arlington Highlands - the overpriced food sucks and servers are disrespectful

Black Eyed Pea - South Cooper - management has a total lack of discernment in hiring servers

Hofbrau - Arlington Highlands - small and cramped, pathetic service, lousy food, overpriced

Fish City Grill - Arlington Highlands - badly in need of professional management - way overpriced for only average food, the servers are TOO casual and unkempt in appearance, and food is not well-presented for the price
__________

POTENTIAL TO BE THE BEST:

BJ's - Arlington Highlands - Classy decor, food so-so but overpriced - the management is pathetic and very unfriendly toward patrons

Abuelo's - I-20 - Upscale decor, nice place, but food is lacking that certain something that gives it a real kick - the salsas (they have 3) and chips are great!

P.F. Chang's - Arlington Highlands - the servers and management are more professional than most, the establishment is kept clean, the food is quite good, but the prices are ridiculously high, particularly in today's economy

__________

BEST:

Uh, let's see ... there are none.

Abuelo's? That place is average at best. Anyone try Nelda's on 157, and Turner-Warnell? Great food, and great swirl margaritas.

Worst: Mexican Inn.

I have not been there..(Salut, formerly Saltambocca's) but have heard from a few neighbors and they say it's great, just as good as the prior place. Maybe the same owner?

A better suggestion for you: Contribute something constructive to the thread or don't post at all.

The OP asked for opinions, I offered mine, and stand by them. If YOU don't like MY opinions, simply ignore it and uh, move on.
