I think it is a good idea to keep our officers on the roads to get people on the highway or in residential areas trapping them speeding. Slow Down and you wont have pay. They have Laws for a reason. TO KEEP YOU SAFE!

Yes they do, but while they are sitting on the street making money, they have criminals all over the city. They need to do a little neighborhood patrol and figure out who lives in their city.
I thought that was your job as a citizen?

It's not an all or nothing thing - we need them to patrol and keep the highways safe by cracking down on speeders. I have talked to Arlington PD - they only ticket the fastest of the fast - don't do 80mph in a 60. And they need to get the pocket rocket guys under control - going between cars on the white lines, going down the shoulder. Just control them.

If you're not speeding, you have no problem with this system.

soon there will be a nationwide price rise in speeding ticket fines to cover the gas costs the officer used to "catch " up with you. I think Alabama(dont quote the state part) is enforcing this now.

Ok, so I'm with Nissa. Don't speed and they don't get you. Don't want to go to jail, don't do a crime. don't want to pay a fine, don't speed.

Here is a big shock! Cops write tickets, theft, rape, murder and drug abuse on the rise.

Funny how Clinton said we needed more cops to stop crime. However, after he increased the # of cops by 10%, crime was up 30%! How did that happen? Maybe the cops ARE the criminals?

Arlinton is a sh*thole anyways, I would not expect less of them.

Hmm, as a citizen, you should know your constitutiona and Bill of rights prohibits Taxation without representation. Tickets are in fact an illegal tax. But noone fight thems. Everyone runs to the court and pays it because the goverment threat to imprision you scares you.

If speed was truly a problem, cars would be built to only go so fast and end of the story. But it is not about speed, it's about money. Nothing more.

Have you been in south Arlington? Try driving through there and tell me you don't desire to speed out of the area. The place sux. While gang bangers are shooting each other, rapists attacking college students, robbing stores or patrons in parking lots, shooting newspaper vendors, and terrorizing neighborhoods, you want the cops to concentrate on speeders?

and it is going to get worse as soon as "the boys" set up shop in the new stadiun, birds of a feather, flock together.

Like this is a bad thing. I wish they would do MORE. Every morning when I go to work and afternoon when I get my kids from school my doors are blown off by jacka$$ crotch rocket drivers driving well in excess of 100MPH on I20, I30, Hwy360, Loop 820 etc.

the main time i get ticket about speeders is when they speed through school zones. i am so tired of them not caring about kids. i could care less really how fast they go on the highways. and it blows my mind when i see people on green oaks going 50+ through my kids school zone, and theres no cops there...then i get on the service road for 360 and the motorcycle cops have 10 people pulled over for going over 45 on the service raod where theres no kids. they have their priorities messed up. get the damn gangs and crack heads out of arlington and keep our kids safe. if they would run all these damn crack dealers up out of these run down nasty apartments and just bulldoze the nasty things arlington wouldnt be known for being such a shithole.
