AMEN!!!! The belts are uselss, maybe the parents can find a way to use them! Spare the rod, spare the child...not saying beating them. The parents do have the right to discipline their children as long as it not abuse, leaving marks or bruises.

I've been talking about this for a long time. It seems that many, otherwise decent, people are either unaware or afraid to take a stand. As long as we allow these criminals to intimidate us, they will continue to be belligerent. The only answer is to meet force with force. To organize our neighborhoods and form alliances with like minded individuals. I would also recommend home schooling to prevent your children from being indoctrinated with the socialist propaganda that seems to be the only thing that, so called, "schools" are capable of teaching these days.

A great deal of the responsibility for the delinquent behavior of minorities, juveniles and adults, is the misguided sense of mistreatment and entitlement that they harbor. Poverty is not the reason for it. West Texas is among the poorest regions in the State, yet, it has the lowest crime rates. That is because hard working, Christian, White people inhabit that area. I don't know how many times I've seen some Black person talking on their cell phone at the grocery store, paying with a Lone Star Card and then putting their groceries into a Cadillac S.U.V.

Yes, the White race certainly has its share of ne'er do wells, dope addicts, punk rockers, people that look like they fell face first into a tackle box, etc.....but, by way of comparison, the number of crimes committed by minorities is far greater.

Additionally, there is a segment of the African - American population that rallies to the defense of every violent Negro that murders a Police Officer or group of Negroes that viciously assault a White person six against one. I recommend the approach that Pasadena took when Quanell X brought his odious horde there and tried to cause trouble.

I totally agree with you!! I don't care what people say.. they can call me racist or not.. but where there's a large majority of blacks.. that's where the crime is at.. that's where the town gets dirty, trashy, ghetto... it's just the truth..

I have to say the stats are correct. The majority is blacks. It is my opinion they have been afforded the same rights, the same education, the same jobss and the same pay, so that cannot be used as an excuse as to why they act out. Now, as we have all read the ruling from the Supreme Court, reverse discrimination is taking place! The prisons are made up of 91% blacks. These prisoners have told their stories over and over it all started with gang activity. I found more gang markings in my area this last week and have zeroed in on a gang house, yes, parents are there. Don't they have a clue as to what is going on? Maybe a drive by in their own living room will be a wake up call? Hopefully we will nab a couple soon. We have the APD cell number and hopefully they will arrive quickly granted nothing else major is going on.
But we WILL protect our property. I know my neighbors are here for the long haul!

I am a new resident to Arlington, therefore I have an outsiders perspective. Thus far, I have found it to be very pleasant. I am in the military and have moved around the country, and every town I move to thinks it is gang infested or has an extremely high crime rate. I find that fact interesting. I would recommend to you to read blogs from other cities, and I think you will find that most cities are exactly the same; residents are frightened by the unknown and very concerned for their communities. Just a thought!!

We don't live in other cities, we live here, own homes and have families. We care about our city and making sure thugs don't take over. After it's done, it's done. Welcome to Arlington but realize, you don't know what we have suffered through. Miltary, your probably young and do not realize the impact this has on our property values. Re-read your statement and see how you sound. You sound like part of the problem, not the solution. Respect yourself enough not to cuss and blame. Get off your lazy butt and YOU do something to make the community a better place. Have you no clue? Buy a home, raise a family. Watch your values go down, watch them destroy YOUR property 18 yr old. So young and full of ?

Arlington is not even close to a "gangster" or "hood" city. Arlington is a VERY SAFE city to live in. It does not have crime and gangbangers like Fort Worth(known as MURDER WORTH) or Dallas(known DIRTY DIRTY DALLAS). I have lived on the east side of Fort Worth and there is alot of crime, drugs and gangs on the east side of Fort Worth(the Meadowbrook neighborhood to be exact). Arlington is a very safe city.

Can you not tell that people are trying to prevent it from becoming a gang own? Since you are not living here, you do not see what is happenning in the areas we have discussed.

since katrina, the crime rate in arlington has skyrocketed. my neighborhood near sublett and cooper had never seen a cop car in it before then, and police officers live there! now theres a cruiser in my neighborhood at least every two days. the neighborhood has never been predominantly one color or the other, and im not racist, but if you look at the kind of hood folk that came from that stadium in louisiana(not even talking about color) it becomes really plain to see why so many apartment complexes became section 8, where crime likes to breed(btw). it's also easy to see WHY the crime has increased so much here due to the displacment of so many people over in new orleans. if the gang members got away with anything over there, OF COURSE they're going to think they can get away with whatever it is over here.

No matter how "valid" your points might be, NO ONE with intelligence and common sense will ever take you seriously if you do not learn to articulate what you say/write. Evidently, your absenteism rate was too high during English classes. You are 18, unaware of the problems faced by mature, concerned homeowners in Arlington and cities like it; so knock off the attitude, grow up, live life, and then talk about this kind of stuff years from now.

Hard times for everyone, not just the gangs! My Lord, we all don't go out doing that krap because we fall on hard times. I am late on ever bill I have. Today my electric will get cut off. But I am not out stealing and gang banging. Economic hard times but not mean stealing, killing, doing dope, selling it ect....

you fight, steal, etc because of economic hard times? That's not a good excuse.. the best way to say it is, you are LAZY.. everyone is struggling these days to put food on the table, to keep their house from going into foreclosure, to keep clothes on their kids backs.. but they don't go out committing crimes now do they? If they lose their job, they go out and find another one. It might not pay as much but they do what they have to do in order to survive.

I attended and graduated from Sam Houston in 2003, and I am reading a ton of people downing Sam Houston. I am sick of Sam being thrown under the bus for every crime in Arlington. All of the Arlington school have there share of crime and violence. Martin & Lamar is huge drug schools just because they have mom and dads money. Arlington, Bowie, Segin, and Sam all have fighting and gang issues. Stop blaming it on Sam!! You can not judge somewhere that you have never been to(Sam). Everywhere is going to have a few people that make it look bad but the place itself in not bad. That goes for Sam as well as Arlington.

I just didn't see everyone blaming Sam Houston....where did that come from? I do believe we were discussing gangs in Arlington. Where you on this site reading "everyone blames Sam". Hello, did they teach you to read or use crital thinking at Sam Houston? Can you please add to the site by voicing an opinion on gangs in Arlington in general and the topic at hand rather than taking items out of context? There are around 260 posts on this site on "gangs in Arlington" and "tons" about Sam houston is just, silly. Tons huh?

Daily Horoscope for November 23

Libra

Today can be one of the most romantic this month, as the nurturing Moon lights up your fifth house. Express your love and affection and find it returned to you several times over; you can multiply your joy today by spreading it around. Watch out for too much of a good thing, however. There are bound to be killjoys who will resent your blithe spirit; don't waste your happiness on those who are enjoying a foul mood.
