Wow, that might be the most uneducated comment I have ever read. Chapter 40B is exactly the opposite of sustainable.
In fact, Chapter 40B had to be exempted from the state's Commonwealth Sustaiability Principles.
Forced growth is not sustainable. Building on every vestage of open space, including wetlands and wildlife sanctuaries is NON sustainable.
Moving into a house that was built nearly 30 years ago, with large amounts of open space behind it, instead of allowing it to be developed into a 300-unit multiplex with a parking lot IS sustainable.
Also, to address the tax-exempt question. SGI is a division of the New England Coalition for Sustainable Population, a federally recognized 501(c)3 charitable organization. Any donation to us is 100% tax deductible.
In a sense, we are a "project" of NECSP. So we do not file seperate taxes. Making the check out to NECSP-SGI simply ensures that the funds go to the Slow Growth Initiative project.
Anymore questiona, feel free to email me. You can find my contact info on the Slow Growth website.
Also, not to get into semantics with the article, but we are not "being sued". The lawyers of both sides talked and came to a payment arrangement. No suit has been filed.

It is you who do not speak for the town.
Again, people like you contimue to support those who are screwing you and push away those who are trying to help you. Lucky for you that you're the minority.
If Slow Growth had walked away from Chelmsford you would have MORE 40B projects, MORE vacant office space, LESS open space, a developer on your BOS, a $25 million tax bill from the fire station and DPW projects and MORE 40Bs built on the old DPW sites and you'd have lost a community ballfield.
But hey, Eliopoulos would have made his millions and Van Dyne would profit from his spot on the BOS, so I guess everything would have worked out..
Why the hell would you want that??

PEOPLE BEWARE
Quincy, MA
|
People of the Commonwealth beware Craig Chemaly and Roland Van Liew should be greatly feared.
Together they have hijacked both the New England Coalition for Sustainable Population (NECSP) and John Belskis’s 40B Coalition.
The latter is evidence by John Belskis’s admission that he believes REFORM is the answer. Or he used to believe in REFORM until Roland Van Liew took control of the organization, redesigned the website and initiated the transfer of huge amounts of capital (money).
Essentially Roland Van Liew has used his money to buy Craig Chemaly, John Belskis, and the NECSP to impose his own twisted perverted SOCIAL AGENDA.
The Commonwealth can not afford to be a lab rat in Roland’s experiment.
The NECSP is a population control group and the Coalition will deny many of us much needed affordable housing. This is all happening at a time when people are losing jobs, losing their homes and their personal dignity.
Roland Van Liew and Craig Chemaly want to CONTROL who has the right to live or die and where and how individuals should live in the Commonwealth.
Roland and Craig your demeanor and rhetoric have become very disturbing to all of us in the Commonwealth.
Your aggressiveness to impose your warped SOCIAL AGENDA on the lives of the residents of the Commonwealth is truly offensive.
Voters of the Commonwealth call your LEGISLATORS today and express your concern. Tell them we CAN NOT afford to repeal the 40B law.
The Commonwealth needs the 40B law especially now.

Craig Chemaly,
You seem to be a very polarizing character. Why do you think that is?
I see posts that say that you're high-jacking state government and complaints about your petitions.

Craig..... does not care about Chelmsford, he does not care about his Dad, John Chemaly.
Craig... only cares about Craig and keeping Roland Van Liew's twisted perversions satisfied.
He will never be anything more than Roland's boy toy. He has no future, anywhere.

Question for Craig
Lowell, MA
|
Considering you worked for State Representative Tom Golden, we are curious does he support you, Roland, NECSP, and the 40B Coalition? Does he think, like you and Roland Van Liew, that killing people to control our population and leaving others homeless is good social policy? Is Tom Golden a contributing member of NECSP-SGI?

40B is broken and we need the likes of SGI keeping a perspective on this. They think slow-growth is good, as do I, but this has gone too far, so I'd like to see a temporary STOP-Growth in town. There is already ample available space in town; no need to create more! Thanks SGI!
