Growth stuck on sewers
“We are still in the throes of it and believe we can work it out”
The most pressing need in the Denton County towns of Argyle and Northlake is something no resident there needs and the towns can't afford. via Dallas Morning News

Our country property is being ruined by big money developers and small minded town council members who want to put a smelly environmentally unsafe water treatment sludge plant in next to existing homes on 5 acres when there are thousands of acres they could put such a hazardous plant like near the cemetary or 407 and 35 or 35 and Crawford, but NO Belmont wants to place it 1400 feet from the back of ranch homes raising thorough bred horses.

You are not alone in this fight. I saw in the paper recently (and this is actually kind of ironic) where residents of Robson Ranch are upset with the plans for Inspiration/Hunter Ranch in Denton's city limits. They don't like what's planned next to Robson Ranch! Guess the Robson Ranch folks like their country feel, too, now that their sprawling area is taking over. Basically, with Inspiration/Hunter Ranch, Belmont, Canyon Falls, and, of course, Lantana, Argyle is being surrounded by mass developments. Good luck with the fight over the location of the sludge plant. I assume the location you are talking about with the homes is on the west side of I35? That's were Belmont is located, but I know there are folks raising thoroughbred horses on Sam Davis. I haven't read anything in the newspapers about this issue. Are the small minded town council members a part of Argyle's town council? I personally would like you to post additional info. about what's going on. |

Flower Mound's Town Council apparently has decided to ignore the SMART Growth plan and turn the town back over to the developers as it was 6 years ago.
Between the new subdivisions popping up on every corner, the slaughter of trees for the sake of widening FM1171, the gas companies drilling and laying pipe on every available square foot of dirt, the wonderful rural setting of far-west FM is quickly turning into a nightmare. |
