An add-on: It's really sad that teens think they are so INVULNERABLE to death. I remember a lot of really stupdi shite I did as a teen.... and it's a wonder I survived.....
My condolences to the family that lost their son.

Hmmmm glad to see the parents taught him about drinking to excess!!! I am really sorry he had to lose his life to teach other teens that drinking to excess can kill. What a waste of a human life. But he wqas doing something ILLEGAL.

I sure hope Mr. Reynolds is proud of himself. There is a reason the drinking age is where it is and one of the reasons is that the younger people are not mature enough to handle it. Their bodies have not matured enough to handle it either. I know some sixteen year old out there is going to say I can drink any adult under the table.
Yup there are some sixteen year olds that can do that, but that is because they have been drinking sense they were ten and it is second nature. Now that is something to be proud of, great way to raise your kid.
The kids of today do not have the same upbringing that the senior adults of today had. The teens think they are invinsible and they will live forever. Surprise, surprise, surprise another one of the invinsible no it alls is dead. Such a tragic waste of a young person.

Unfortunately that is soooo true.

So sad! Reynolds should be charged with his death. He is an adult and he knew better than to get alcohol and allow a minor to drink. Alcolhol is just bad news, plain and simple fact.

that is ridiculous! dont people learn? drinking KILLS people! and yet, people still drink, and they don't CARE who they effect. we need to do somthing to change our world.
we shouldnt have to deal with drunk people or people that are high. america would be a much happier place if there was no drugs or alcohol at all! but is that going to happen? no! people will find a way to get it anyways...
who started this production of unhealthy products? they are the cause for thousands of deaths each year, and they should be punished!

Have you people ever thought that this was someone's child ??
Maybe you should ask his mother why he felt the need to drink; oh wait a minute, you can't - she left her family several years ago to run off with a married man.......

You wisdom is good, your wishes make sense, but will never happen. The smoking of different things goes back to the Native Americans or before that even as does the alcohol that the white man gave to the indians as fire water.
Young lady it will never change, God how I wish it would. I lost my Grandfather way too early because of alcohol. I have lost many close friends because of it as well. In two cases because of another person being drunk and killing them.
As long as people think they can get away from reality for awhile with alcohol or drugs they are going to do it. As long as people think they are cool to partake of drugs and they are invinsible, they are going to do it.
Rebecca, just keep you life clean from the evels and let the rest do as they wish because we can not control any of it. God Bless you young lady for having the insight that you have.

I don't understand how anyone that does not have all the information can safely make comments like the ones that I have read on this website. I am glad that GOD is more understanding and forgiving then any of you. Just remember, "By the GRACE of GOD, there goes you". I will pray for the young man's family and for all of you. Any hope that you never have to walk in their shoes.

A mother, There was a post not that far back from consiquencees, and another from WonderWhy, they both apparently knew the youngman. I for one am note condeming him for all of his action, but I do condem the parents. From what WonderWhy had for a post, it is clear to see the Mother took off. This left the Father to raise him alone or so we figure. This is not a reason for the youngman to not have a proper up-bringing. There are alot of cases where children are brought up by only one parent and they turn out to be very productive adults. It all depends on the parent, do they take the interest they should and guide the child. In this case, I would say no.

It is unbelievable to me that some people are as heartless as they are. You should absolutly be ashamed of some of the posts. I knew Austin. He was a friend of my daughters. A nice young man who made some bad choices and has paid for them with his life. We will miss him. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family. Educate your children. Educate your friends. And for those of you who who are callous may you never have to face a tragedy like this with your own children or loved one someday.

You people know NOTHING!!! Maybe you should not judge so quickly. Austin's Dad did everything he could for him, to no avail. He was raise in a strong christian family, yes the mother went astray, but his Dad did the best he could. Austin got in trouble and he got help, then he fell off the wagon, too bad it was the last thing he ever did. I pray for his family.

I cant believe what I am sitting here reading. I cant believe all the negative and rude posts. This is a family that is mourning the loss of their 18 year old son.I have known Austin for about 10 years. Yes Austin made some wrong choices in life..... You can try and teach and educate your kids until your blue in the face but at the end of the day they make their own choices. Austin was a great person and he will greatly be missed. My prayers are with his family. My only hope is that other young adults this age see that things like this could happen to anyone no matter their status, how much money they have or how they were raised.

You can teach them but they don't always learn. Some get lucky and some are not so lucky. The parents sent him to rehab but that didn't work. Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't. You can lead a horse to water but you can't make him drink!!
