Religion has nothing to do with this. Fenton is presumably on his way to or just back from a psychotic break in his personality. Religion jumping and assigning himself the name "Student of Islam" screams CRAZY to me. What if he started his plot while he was a self described bible thumper? Will you denounce Xians as terrorists? I will.
By your logic, this is a hypothetical convo: So, you work for the gov't? What's it like to torture people?
