New Rochelle Guy wrote: <quoted text> I was friends with John and Louis Maiola and Al Fama who lived down near me on Circuit...I am in Warwick now and work in NJ...I did a lot when I was a kid and had a lot of jobs...worked the Roosevelt bar, The RKO and that Mobil station in the evenings at the bottom of Drake and Pelham roads, did lots of things and roamed around and then got my head together later in life. Al and Louie were classmates, but not much more than that as we hung with different crowds. I was on the other end of Drake at Main St and hung out with 2 groups from the area. Several BSHS guys in 1 group and NRHS guys / girls in the other. I knew most of them since I was very young. You, like myself must have spent a bit of time at Glen Island beach and Greasy Nick's. Looking at my name from a few posts ago, do we know each other?

Mike - I'm curious who Bobby Schmalzigan is... as that is my husband's name! Schmalzigan is not that common, so it's interesting to find another one. Do you know how to contact him? Michael wrote: <quoted text> Patti, Thank you for sharing your memories of Freddie and Rochelle. I am his younger cousin who lived in the same 3 Family apartment house on Main & Drake. Since I was quite a bit younger(8 yrs), I only knew some of his friends. As a teen, I hung out with many friends on Everett st. including Rochelle's brother Jackie, Mike & Louanne Fagella, Bobby Schmalzigan(he had a beautiful older sister that you may have known), Ricky Paul who rented the small garage in front of the Hess trucks to lift weights in, Ray and Ritchie Williams and others. They all lived on Cliff St and Everett St. I am guessing that we do not know each other, but do you have a younger brother or sister that I may have known? I was visiting Freddie's 2 sisters just before Christmas last year(I had not seen them for almost 30 years due to a Family dispute. They eventually moved to SW Florida and we were able to connect and share many stories. They told me that Rochelle had married and moved to Connecticut. If you ever speak with her, please tell her that I would like to contact her and chat a bit. She was very special to me due to her closeness with Freddie.

I mave have spelled his last name incorrectly...I am guessing that he is 53-56 years old. Please contact me with additional information if you know / find him...

Do you know anything about the family? Mr. Spagnola was the super of an apt bldg on Franklin Ave. I heard Spaggy (Anthony) got into some trouble but thats it. Any thoughts ?

I just 'met' someone who was born 8/1/46 in Westchester County to the birthname Schmalzigan and was put up for adoption. She said she found out in the early 70's that she had a sister Joan Schmalzigan. Does that name sound familiar? I'm trying to help her put together the details of her birth family. Thanks! Anne
