I feel like I am back home in Mamaroneck re-living my childhood. Did you see the post from Dawn G.? I replied but she never answered. Hi, brother Tom! I love it, too! I don't think it was "our" Dawn G. She would have responded! I can always ask her sister Barbara - we still keep in touch. Eddie Romani is now gone to the Great Hangout in the Sky, as are all the Romani brothers, I believe. It was Mark who was his partner at the Bee Hive - where I "officially" met Tony! Love you. Lou

Lavender Sunset wrote: I lived in Larchmont from 1949 until 1983. Went to school at St Augustines. Loved Broderson's Deli. Had the greatest roast beef sandwiches with extra mayo on rye bread. Loved them. I am almost a vegan now, but I can still taste those sandwiches loved them rare. There was a bakery on the way home from school on Chatsworth Avenue they had the greatest eclares. I would stop there almost every day after school. I think. YUM. Behind the Post Office there was a hill, it was great to roll down. That was really a long time ago. There was a restaurant in Mamaroneck. One story made of stone. On the post road, it was really special, had a great patio and I think a band every once in a while. Does anyone remember the Italian Restaurant almost across from Mamaroneck Jr. High, it had great pasta and pizza, I remember Chanti and candles dripping with wax on to red and white checked tableclothes. I loved the Duck Pond and the waterfall. And Sheldrake Woods and the beach in Rye where the Horseshoe Crabs came to mate everyear. How about Manor Park and the Gazebos. I was sixteen and loved the wind and the waves, so there I was in the middle of a hurrcaine holding on for dear life. Literally, the gazebo overlooked Manor Beach. Loved Walter's Hot Dogs, can still taste them. And Cook's fried clams with french fries and tartar sauce. How about Niki's Pizza on Chatsworth Avenue near the RR. Does anyone remember Maxl's in White Plains. How about trips to Jones Beach. What was the name of the bar/restaurant across from the entrance to the Hudson Park Marina? Where was the Marciano's Bakery that some one mentioned? Wow! Thanks for bringing back so many memories. I graduated in 1960 if any one on this site is from that era, I would love to hear from you. I am living in Maine now, many moves and many adventures. Marciano's Bakery was 56 Third Street in New Rochelle.

Graduated Mamaroneck High School in 1960. Grew up in Mamaroneck. Have lived in Larchmont for for the last 39 years. Just moved to Bethel CT. Have 2 daughters who went to Chatsworth and of course to MHS. Really going to miss Larchmont - Manor Beach and Park - Park so beautiful. Niki's Pizza still there. My Grandmother lived above Marciano's Bakery in New Rochelle for many years. When we visited her the smells of their bread was so delicious. Would love to hear from any of you who were 1960s graduates of MHS. Lots of great memories.

Do I remember? You bet I do. I am now 75 Years old and graduated from MHS in '54'. I lived on Rockland Ave. in Mamaroneck back then, now located in north western Connecticut. I remember Walters when I would get a hot dog for 15 cents or 2 for a quarter. My wife Carolyn MHS '56' lived in an apartment accross from the post office on Chatsworth Ave. in Larchmont, and remembers the bakery called Mothers Oven. The Italian Restaurant accross from Jr. High and in front of the Mamaroneck Motel, was owned by the Lanci family who's daughter married a good friend of mine. We used to spend lots of time at the Manor and also Flint Park. We used to hang out at the Chatsworth Ave. school on Addison St. It was quite a crew. Does anyone remember that? Lived on Rocland Av. The apt blg next to Rigano's Garage. Graduated Stepinac 1953. I delivered the paper to Walters for four years. Made sure I got to the stand M-Thurs. just before six when he closed in the late fall and winter and I would get what was ever left on the grill. My tip as his paper boy. Sometimes Artie or Gene would be there instead of Walter. They also had the best apple cider. All home made from the apple orchard they had in Va.

Hi Tom! Sounds wonderful - are you retired or something? Our weather is great for the time being! Jan and I went to the Arabian Horse Show Sunday in Scottsdale - as much fun people watching as horse watching!
When are you and Deb going to come out? Love you! Lou

Funny you should ask. I did not know him and maybe I should have since I was in the TV service business in Mamaroneck for a period of time, until 1960 when I moved to Brewster, NY. I also worked for Towne Radio, Main St., Mamaroneck for a short period of time. Where was Nick Powers back then? Lori P wrote: <quoted text> Did you by any chance know Nick Powers the tv repairman?

Hi Lou, I remember you, your mom Rose and I see your brother Kenny once or twice a year. I also know your apt. house. As a kid I used to play across the street in the lot with the little pond. Use to catch frogs there. How about the circus that use to set up across Palmer Ave.. Hunt Bros if my memory serves me right. Do you remember the Galvayo's up the street. That all seems like a long time ago and it was a great time. Louis C wrote: Lived on Rocland Av. The apt blg next to Rigano's Garage. Graduated Stepinac 1953. He may have worked for Brower's TV which was a little past the movie theater toward the Boston Post Rd.. I lived in Mamaroneck from 1944 to 1959. In 1959, I moved to Brewster where I lived until 1999. You must live in the Pawling area. None of these forums list the right address. They had me living in Waterbury, CT, but I actually live in Litchfield CT 30 miles north of Waterbury. Hi Ed. I remember Nick. I brought him back an ashtray from The Powers Hotel in Rochester, when the seniors went there to see Stepinac play St Thomas Aquinas. He taught me a couple of tricks to keep the tv tubes lasting longer. I live in Danbury, not Wallingford. Been here for 44 years. Have six kids and 19 grand children. Once a year I take the near by ones to Walters, and usually get 35 or so. I also get a raffle ticket from them for the firemen. Maybe one day I will remember to bring mine with me.

Hi Lou, That is quite a large family you have there. If you ever have family reunions you would have to rent a hall. I think that's great. I wish everyone good luck and good health. I have three sons and one daughter, also eight grand children. I spent a lot of time in Danbury when I lived in Brewster for forty years. we may have passed each other some where and didn't know it since I have not seen you for about 50 plus years. Ed . I, like you all, spent a chunk of my youth in Freshchester. I was wondering does anyone know the name of the Chinese Restaurant in Larchmont or Mamamoneck (memory is fading) that used to sell giant Pu Pu Platters. It was a huge restaurant in a small shopping complex?
