Where was Nena Wilson when this event happened? She was right there in the village. The fact is she did not participated when the school children really needed all the best encouragements from caring tribal leaders before the Arctic Village school started. Her job as Indian Child Welfare Act-agent, she should have made her attendance up most importance on this issue. What exacly does she have heartburn with? As I read the "Native camp" story by Pete Peter it had nothing but positive and healthy roles for the children. Also it had the Venetie tribal chief-Julian Roberts tribal chief involved who under the IRA tribal council has jurisdiction on all the tribal lands including Arctic Village council. Does anyone have any sense now days of what future key role models are trying their best to help the young kids of Alaska? I rest my case.
