Although, if you'd like a real solution to prostitution, publish the johns' names on the front page. Problem solved in under 6 months, guaranteed. Without the demand for their services, the hookers go away. Of course, we all know that will never happen and that men will continue to pay for sex and women will continue to sell it, just as both parties have done probably forever.

Animals of all sorts bribe each other for sex by presenting gifts, including humans not legally engaged in prostitution - clothes, cars, homes, dinner and a movie, drinks, wedding/engagement rings, etc. Granted, there's sometimes a lot more involved, like emotion and love, in some of these transactions, but let's be honest here - it's the emotional and religious/moral involvement or lack thereof that's actually being legislated and prosecuted rather than the transaction itself. The whole issue is one giant greyscale game of semantics conducted by overzealous moral crusaders not minding their own darned business.
