I'm sure it will only be a matter of hours before the hoodrats have thrown everything on the floor, graffit'd the bathroom, torn off security tags-stolen their merchandise and left the place in shambles. I hope they have a security guard there-they are going to need one.

"I like it because it's new and clean. there's not things thrown everywhere," Catalina Hernandez, El Monte

I know of some people that will see to it that it doesn't stay that way for long.

Cant be as bad as D.D Discounts on Azusa and S.B Road in Covina. Wife dragged me in there one time. Customers reminded me of Pomona street people you see on Holt. Customers were also aggressive, pushy, and would jump ahead of me a few inches on the same clothing rack I was looking at without waiting their turn. Employees were mostly 20 year old cholas. Didnt care for the customers or employees. Cant imagine South El Monte Marshalls would be any better. You build it in the ghetto and the ghetto will come.

Oh sorry. I forgot about the well known fact that "Unknown" lives there, has a MA, and makes 100K a year South El Monte is not ghetto. Your thinking is quite self absorbed and ego-centric.

When I drive through South El Monte I see tons of cholos and cholas, male thugs in wife beaters with tattoos and Dodger/Raider clothing, gross people hanging around in front of liquor stores, corn and churro vendors with unwashed hands. Seems pretty ghetto but no, "Unknown" has a MA, earns 100K, and lives there. All that nastiness I observed in South El Monte doesnt exist because of Unknown.

"All the shopping carts were gone in 15 minutes."

People probably took them home.... you'll soon see those all over the city full of junk or kids using them as rides!

Let me make something very clear for those of you who don't know that El Monte and South El Monte are two separate cities.

South El Monte is the city with a balanced budget who contracts with the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

If you have seen "cholos and cholas" it's in
El Monte who has the gang "EMF" (El Monte Flores.

Pretty easy to blog when you don't know the facts.

Our city council has done an outstanding job in developing that area.

Any problems with "cholos and cholas" unlike the El Monte Police, our Sheriff's handle their business.

Michael Hunt and Durfee in South El Monte, total cholo-fest. Also, that surrounding area (Legg Lake, Rush and Rosemead, Villa Tepeyac on Rush, Starlight Drive In Swap Meet, and the residential areas near Rush/Durfee is totally gross cholo-ville. Tell the truth.

Maybe now that this shopping center extension is opening up, the pathetic "mini-mall" at Peck and Durfee can be torn out. It is an eye sore, and a screaming example of the run-down, poverty that is the basis of South El Monte!

LOL you should seriously consider moving to nicer neighborhood with the money you're making...not You probably working at church's chicken or some shoe story making 8 dollar an hour.

S. El Monte is the ghetto of the sgv. Too many cholos in the area, jaywalkers, and too many crimes. YOu will see 93 broken down honda with chrome rims. You have ice cream truck that sell ice cream at 8pm at night. You have a lot corn vendor and the street are dirty with trash that people just throw up.

Good for you Unknown, I also make good money and have a good job but the fact is that I can't wait to get the hell out of S.El Monte, I hate being in my front yard with my wife and 2 yr old son only to have Cholos doggn me for no stupid reason or have these unemployed morons living on federal aide breaking into my home and stealing everything i worked hard for. S. El Monte is Ghetto!!!! This Marshalls is the only new thing around but it won't be long before it's run down.

Daily Horoscope for December 20

Scorpio

There are problems concerning money today, especially if someone thinks they aren't getting their fair share of it. Mars turns retrograde in your house of public matters, so issues from the pat will need to be dealt with in weeks to come. Sort things out quickly, before they become even more fraught.
