DOES EVERYONE KNOW THAT THE ARBYRD CHIEF OF POLICE IS REALLY NOT A COP. HE WAS APPOINTED BY ARBYRD TO FILL IN FOR JACK POWELL UNTIL THE ELECTION. DO NOT SHOW SUPPORT FOR THIS PERSON. HE IS NO BETTER THAN A SECURITY GUARD. HE CANNOT STOP VEHICLES. HE CANNOT MAKE ARRESTS. HE IS A LIABILITY TO THIS CITY. WE NEED REAL COPS TO WORK AT OUR POLICE DEPARTMENT. I THINK THIS IS CALLED IMPERSONATING A POLICE OFFICER.

seems to me the board and mayor need to fire this guy and hire a real police officer. i have seen malone in action and he needs to be arrested,.

Mr. Malone has the authority to detain someone until the local authorities arrive. Mr. Malone has supported and served the city of Arbyrd in the many years he has lived in the community. The petty arguing going on between these two small towns is absolutely ridiculous. When something like this is going on in the community, what kind of example are we setting for our children, and people wonder why kids act the way that they do, look at how their role models are acting.

you are wrong. mr.malone has no authority to detain anyone, look up your missouri law. mr.malone is an appointed supervisor, not a police chief. mr. malone has no police certification therefore is liable for civil lawsuit as is the city for employing someone like that. if you want a role model for your kid, ask the arbyrd mayor to employ a real police officer to run arbyrds department. and for your information, i overheard one of the local cops talking about mr.malone is the reason all of the arguing is going on. |

i was in cardwell and heard a conversation there and it does appear as mr.malone is impersonating a police officer. he is wearing a badge, carrying a .22 baby pistol and wears police gear and even a uniform. after reading these posts i did some research and it is actualy a class A misdemeanor what mr.malone is doing. wonder if the dunklin county sheriff knows about this?!

well, all i know is, the arbyrd citizens aren't stupid and once all of the details of his pay and hours, ext comes out, then people are going to be upset to say the least. rumor has it an arbyrd citizen is thinking of suing arbyrd for mr.malone putting him in handcuffs, which is a no-no for a mere citizen with no authority.
