Ralph wrote: <quoted text> Sorry, Matthew is talking about divorce. and Leviticus says may be talking about sex, but not everyone agrees on that. But, even if it did, it would be referring to having sex, not being married. You cannot point out one verse in the entire bible that specifically states that one man may not marry another man, or one woman may not marry another woman. I defy you to come up with one. I reiterate, start with Genesis. Read every single description of marriage in the Bible. Matthew 19:4-6 is quite clear from Jesus and notes "...what God has joined together....". And Hebrews 13:4 is quite clear. Original word for word translations from the Aramaic, Greek, and Hebrew are quite clear. Nor is there any translation, save those made by homosexuals, that indicates that Naomi and Ruth were lovers, nor any of the others that homosexuals make this claim for. Exegetical studies uphold my assertions. I don't think people pay enough attention to the book of Jude. No specific marriage reference, rather, refers to human ability to reason as opposed to animal instinct.

What, you didn't like the pictures of your fellow homosexuals? You don't approve of the Folsom Street Fair? Or did you even bother to look at the pics? Probably not. No open minds here. Only selfish desires.

Oh, and Ugh, why don't you go live in Europe then? No, I pretty much have adopted America's founding fathers' way of thinking and I'm proud of it. They apparently weren't happy any where else, either. So they created the greatest, most blessed nation on earth.
And now, as we adopt the ways of Europe, we can continue down the slope and lose our greatness. Yep, we can embrace socialism, exactly what our founding fathers didn't want.
Sheesh.

And isn't amazing the number of people that choose to immigrate to America. Hmm. Wonder why.

It would never be permitted where I live and they'd all be thrown in jail. I did not look at the pictures, but I don't have to. Folsom is a private event that people pay to get into. It is not open to the public. I don't believe children should be there, but that is ultimately up to their parents, not me. If you believe taking a child to Folsom is child abuse, forward the pictures to the California state attorney and ask him/her to take care of the problem. Short of that, you publicizing the pictures is accomplishing nothing. FYI - If you happen to be in Chicago this weekend and see signs for IML, please understand it is also a private event, and one that you would not enjoy. You will be happy to know that it is for adults only.

I've been in system design business for over 30 years and have taught classes in several programming languages and design techniques and have worked for several companies but that does give me the knowledge to speak for all languages, design techniques and how all companies should operate their business with any kind of authority. The same applies to you. I think I will still rely on true experts and of course my own life experiences.

Please point out where in the U.S Constitution or any state constitution (or in any law for that matter) it states that our marriage laws should be based on biblical texts. If you cannot do that, there is absolutely no reason to read the Bible to determine what our laws should allow or not allow.

It's funny how these types of subjects always end up in some long debate about Gay people loving each other and anyone who does't agree with two men or women marrying MUST be homophobic and hateful.
C'mon people... it has nothing to do with hating... sure there are some people who are "crazy" and literally hate gay people enough to harm them etc... but not everyone who disagrees with same sex marriage is a bigot, homophobe etc.
We're all allowed to have or opinions and feelings about a thing and we should be permitted to disagree if we so choose.
I AM a christian and I don't agree with same sex marriage, but aside for praying for those people... what can we do. Jesus still loves them, He died for ALL of us not just the straight people; He is not a respector of persons... there is none greater than the other and there is no sin that is smaller than the other... sin is sin.
Why don't we focus on other things instead of wasting our time with pointless arguments. If we don't agree, we don't agree... move on.

I am straight and have no problem with gays gettiing married. I choose to focus my energy on my own marriage and make sure it doesn't end up like 50% of the other straight marriages that end in divorce. Gay marriage does not effect me or my marriage so I am fine with it. Another perspective: www.godhatesshrimp.com

YES! This is GREAT news. And I hope once it goes through that it spreads like wildfire.
The first step to peace is acceptance and tolerance.

I used to be ignorant about the whole gay marriage thing. I don't really care for the concept of marriage too much now. I say let them do what they want to do. For the people saying that "they can't procreate" well good we don't need any more people. The less the better...this world is becoming overpopulated.
