Yeah, I think O'Malley has been stealthy on the progay issues but he's done little to make people believe he's moderate since becoming governor and he seems to have backed the wrong horse in supporting Hillary Clinton. If O'Malley gets reelected it will be because the GOP can't come up with an appealing moderate candidate to oppose him. |

Really??? Did you think the same when interracial marriage was allowed? Just because you have the right to marry doesn't make it OK for others not to have that same right. What is everyone do afraid of? It's just love! |

Why is it that people equate gay marriage to marrying animals? Are people really that dumb? Apparently so it seems.
Yes, gay people DO understand the process of biological reproduction GJMoore. Do bigots like yourself also realize that homosexuality is a natural occurrence? Do you think people choose to live a life where they have to deal with ignorance and prejudice on a daily basis? Clearly not. Also, do you somehow think that if gay and lesbian people aren't able to get married, that they are going to magically become straight? Because for some reason you are trying to say that if gay couples get married that there will be a population reduction. However, whether or not gay people get married, they're STILL gay. And here's some more news for you...homosexuality is nothing new. It has been around forever and clearly humans have had no problem with overpopulating the Earth. |

Exactly! It bothers me that people put so much energy into hate and opposition to love when there are so many bigger things in this world that we as people should be uniting to change. |

So you are clearly saying that marriage is for the sole purpose of reproduction. Using your logic then, should we not allow heterosexual marriages for people who are unable to give birth or simply do not desire children? Not to mention the fact that marriage is not a God given right or something that was created by Christianity like so many people here like to claim. |

Why do you assume you can judge a loving relationship based on if they can procreate or not? Gays are naturally born as well. Gays are not seeking sex changes. Have you got anything else? |

1 Put in a referendum to vote on every one's rights. In that way we can see how many people will lose rights based on uninformed people that seem very concerned with the business of other people. |

1 Experts in the field basically DISAGREE that what YOU call "homophobic" truly qualifies as being homophobic -- and it's never been scientifically established that FEMALES can even BE "homophobic": [FROM: Journal of Abnormal Psychology,1996, Vol. 105, No. 3, pp. 440--445, "Is Homophobia Associated With Homosexual Arousal?", by Henry E. Adams, Lester W. Wright, Jr., and Bethany A. Lohr, University of Georgia]: ....... "A major difficulty in this area of research is in defining and measuring homophobia. For example, with the scale used in the present study, we found it difficult to find heterosexual men who scored in the high-grade nonhomophobic range (0-25). Similarly, Hudson and Ricketts (1980) found that 56% of their sample scored in the homophobic range (i.e., > 51 ). This problem may be due not to a high prevalence of homophobia; rather, it may be the result of the nature of this and similar scales. As O'Donahue and Caselles (1993) suggested, scales that assess homophobia measure only cognitive and affective components. ..... In our opinion, negative attitudes and cognitions toward homosexuality are probably not sufficient to warrant the label of homophobia. Future research should focus on several issues. First, more reliable scales for measuring homophobia should be devised that incorporate cognitive, affective, and behavioral components. ..... Third, the issue of whether homophobia is specific to men or may also occur in women has not been addressed systematically, nor is it clear whether homophobic women may show sexual arousal to erotic lesbian stimuli." ...... |
