First their are two awards due here, one is to the teenager who got owned, we give him a Darwin Award for ridding the world of himself. Second the truck driver gets an award for excellent driving skills and and extra 20 points for hitting a moving target and a bonus 10 points for the dirt bike.

We were all dumb in our teenage years. People dont start calming down till their mid-twenties. It is a depressing event. Anyone who is honest with themselves will admit they have done reckless stuff themselves that could of cost them their lives. Laughing about this kid is just sick.

Not to pick a Friday Fight. But. I am not a liberal, far from it (far, far actually). Being hit by a tractor trailer is a hideous death. This boy is someone's child. What do we know of him really? There's not a lot of facts presented here. "Now you know" I did read your post on the Metro Digest concerning the drug death. And I concur. That adult deserved his fate. Period.

The real tragedy is for the driver here. Her has to live with this and its directly tied into his living. There may not be allot of facts but "dirt bike" makes it clear about licensing.

There's a reason dirt bikes are illegal in Baltimore, aside from the nuisance factor. In the confines of a city, they're just dangerous.

As long as parents and others make these bikes available to teenagers, they're going to continue to make stupid decisions, and more will undoubtedly die.

Somebody needs to be a parent and just say no.

I agree the trucker deserves an award. These young punks illegally riding dirt bikes all through the city are nothing but trouble. I saw a whole gang of them ride right down Pratt St. 2 weeks ago and go right through a red light while nearby cops just sit and watched. I was so outraged. What if someone had been going through that light? Does anyone think these punks would have actually stopped and not fled if there was an accident. Young or not, they need to be responsible for their actions.
I know, I know, you liberals will come up with the same excuse...If only the county would put up a track for these kids...blah, blah, blah. A decent percentage of these dirt bikes are stolen anyway. Feedup with this city.

In the example you gave, it would have been nice if a tractor trailer were going thru that intersection and have all of them decapitated. I guess it never works that way. One can dream though.

Are you kidding me?? Are all of you idioit's? This was a young teen ager that lost his life. WE ALL MAKE MISTAKES when we are teens. I do feel sorry for the truck driver but ALSO a child's life was taken here for a dumb ass mistake that he made. Wow...we all make dumb ass mistakes. There are alot of hurt people in this situation including families for ALL involved. Anyone that thinks this is a laughing matter obviously needs a check on reality here. Oh and just for the record...he was a WHITE boy not black.

He was a future toilet scrubbing idiot along with his parents. None of them won the sperm lottery. Society has enough of them or should I say enough of them minus one now.

It wouldn't have mattered if it was a moped. This was a case of South Baltimore natural selection. If he was any good he'd be competing with the best of them verses running red lights on city streets disrespecting the decent people of society. The world is better off now.

yes, it is illegal and yes he was a typical teenager just running a short distance to get gas for the dirt bike. i understand that he had a brand new helmet, at home. my prayers go out to his mother who is shattered and empty at his loss and for those of you who can't remember your own teenage years!

Thank you, Mike. I also know the family and everyone in this situation is very sadden. All that is involved.

Sorry about your friend, but you play the game you have to play by the rules. Unfortunately he lost.

Sorry for your loss.

I hope you don't follow his fate and learn from this.
