Those guys were going off. As a former bmx racer from back in the day, I am very proud of how far our sport has come. Jam on boys and keep it real. Though jammin on our bikes has never been the "in thing" it has always been the best. Enjoy, ride safe, and ride hard, and ride often.

Nice event; but this and Critical Stupidity puts bikes right in the TOY category. Overall; maybe this type of thing is what bring motorist versus bike anger to the forefront. One or 2 days of positive events, and the entire cycling community has to be stereotyped as kids; like everybody can jump 4 feet, fly though a stop sign, go the wrong way on the wrong side...

An awesome event! Positive in every way. My son (3rd place), and I'm sure others, were looking forward and planning for this event for 2 months. Planning their routines and practicing on the course. The contestants, spectators, and hosts had fun attitudes that kept the event real. Fun, Safety, and post-event clean-up were clearly high priorities for Bicycle Trip. My family is looking forward to this event next year. I am always impressed by the camaraderie observed at the Fun Spot, I hope it is a venue that finds a permanent home in the Santa Cruz area.

Sorry, I'm just a very bitter, vindictive person. A bunch of young people having fun and doing something positive really makes me angry. Maybe it's because I hate my own life so I transfer that onto other people, especially young people.

I don't see how this stereotypes the entire cycling community as a bunch of kids, since it's a BMX-specific event. Also, we BMX types tend to consider the "cycling community" pretty freakin' lame, so we'd rather you not include us in with guys in spandex, fixed-gear scene kids, Critical Massers, and old guys on recumbents.
