Valley Women's Club is a crooked organization. 30 years of trading county funding in exchange for campaigning for the annointed candidates - Almquist, Keeley, Stone. 30 years of claiming to be environmentalists, 30 years of killing any and all development, then all of a sudden 2 years ago they start campaigning for the South County Housing development 60 units in the Felton meadow. What made them go from environmentalists to developer spokespeople? Threat of loss of funding from Jan Beautz and Mardi Wormhoudt who didn't want any housing project in THEIR districts.

Valley Women's Club - you've lost sight of your mission in exchange for cash. Shame on you.

Poo poo Valley Women's Club for sure then, but way to go Mardi & Jan! Sometimes it takes an effective politician to expose these self-proclaimed organizations of public good as the progressive laundromats of the publics cash they really are.

Still mad at the VWC for threatening Felton business owners for hosting "choice" on high density government housing.

You know you're a member of the Valley Women's Club when:

1. You've clearcut your land, but work furiously to pass legislation so others can't cut one tree.

2. You want to save the river, unless the County pays you to shill for a 60-unit housing development next to it. In that case, s c r e w the river!

3. You campaign for the candidate who is most likely to continue your grant funding. Duh.

4. You start vicious whisper campaigns against opposition candidates.

5. You support endless bond measures because you know some of that bling is going to end up in your pocket.

6. You support Redevelopment because you think you will get to be the Redeveloper.

7. Your favorite phrase is "Our community needs assessment tells us our action vision is in line with the consensus of all 12 of us stakeholders."

8. You think recycling is for the little people.

9. If local business owners don’t walk in lockstep with your projects, you start boycotts.

10. If science, logic or facts don't back up your latest issue, you create little dummy organizations so it looks all grassrootsy.

11. You rally for paper grocery bags only, but secretly wish they'd keep the plastic cuz they make good bathroom trashcan liners.

12. You realize that rallying for paper grocery bags means more trees are cut down so you quash that campaign.

13. When you're told those trees are in British Columbia, you start the campaign back up. Screw the British Columbians. South America is not on your radar.
