We have been long-time supporters of Scouting...and went out & purchased over $25 worth of food for the Scouts food drive last Saturday & diligently put them out next to our mail box (in clear sight...before 9:00 am on Saturday) They NEVER got picked up...so we gave them to our Grandkids. Sorry, you snooze...you lose!! It's not surprising that the drive did not reach your expectations. If it happened to us, it probably happened to others.
