I think 30 days in jail for each parent should be sufficient.
This is what happpens when parents spit out kids, then throw the responsibility on the state.
However, just because a parent wants to shun their responsibility doesn't mean that they no longer have it.
Maybe the parents should think of the responsibility for the end product before the mom opens her legs to every guy with a number.

So everybody on this page wants to blame the illegal immigrants for all of their problems. What is this, Blacks and Whites want to unite to beat up on the Mexicans. I thought everybody here wants to fix the problem not be part of it.

We've become a welfare state where the child becomes a burdensom byproduct of a narcissistic mentality and those who produce this burden have no desire to take any responsibility, or role, in the training, nurturing, or raising of this child. Either the state, the child's peers, television, or Hollywood become the criteria in which the child learns social norms and values while the parent, or parents, are so engrosses in the persiut of their own pleasures that they have no time, or concern for their childen.

It all starts at home with the parents; It seems to me that there is a lack of respect on behalf of the students and children at large. Parents do not teach their children to be respectful to others. A perfect example is to drive down any neighborhood where children are playing basketball or football in the street and they DO NOT move or step aside when a car is coming down the street. In fact they yell at the car for disrupting their game that they are playing in the street! It all falls on the parents. It's a shame.

Blacks and Samoans were vastly outnumbered. These outbreaks seem to occur when Latinos (Mexicans) become dominate in numbers.

Why should the parents spend 30 days in jail? What does that resolve? I think your suggest will only make the matter worse by leaving those kids without parents to support them financially, which will lead them to live in a foster parent home and on welfare. What does the riot have to do with a women opening her legs? Nothing! What happen is a bunch of ignorant kids fought for reason that are still unknown. Instead of the parents doing JAIL TIME, I strongly suggest that the culprit spend some time behind bars. Let them sit behind bars so they can learn that being racisms doesn't bring anything but an eight by eight room. In addition to this suggestion, principles, parents, and teachers should send a strong message to all young teenagers in Fontana that this behaviors will not be taken lightly. This is something all adults should rectify rather than blame and point fingers. Second Thoughts wrote: I think 30 days in jail for each parent should be sufficient. You all are stupid you don’t know what had happen at the riot so don’t try to act like you were there and you know what you are talking about.

Stereotyping ethnic groups only serves to bring divisions amongst all people. To suggest that only "Mexicans" were part of the problem is ignorant.
What role did the school or police play?
Instead of blaming the students-who is trying to help them? Racial tensions occur on many Southern CA campuses-I don't expect this will be the last one.

I graduated from Fohi in 1986 and subsequently left Fontana in 1988 because I could see the writing on the wall. What used to be a predominately white town of Blue Collar steel workers is now a predominately Hispanic population that has become a drain on the local economy. Sad, really sad.

Instead of blaming the students? That's all we do is make excuses for today's youth. It's never their responsibility is it? Even parents in today's society have to be concerned with how they discipline their children. It never used to be that way. Teachers are afraid to exercise their authority because of how the students react. It never used to be that way. Now, 500 students riot and let's blame someone else. It never used to be that way. For crying out loud, it's the students fault, no one else's. It's the kids fault. No one elses. Lets stop making excuses for these gang-banging, thuggish kids of today!

"who is trying to help them?"
Oh, and for the record, they don't want to be helped. Society has been pushed further and further way from the youth over the years. The voice is loud and clear. Unless it benefits them, they want nothing of it and would rather spit in your face.

Most of them are already on welfare. I say hold the parents responsible for the behavior of their kids. After all, aren't the parents the one who are supposed to teach their children their values? If the mothers thought about how to raise their children BEFORE they had them, maybe their legs would be closed more than they have been.
