if you know this is going on why would you let your child outside?

Leave the little myrakul outside and let nature take its course. Naturally, with enough gnashing of teeth, wailing and crying post-event, the police will surmise that the unburdened parent has 'suffered enough' and all will be well. This is akin to kids that get 'forgotten' in hot/freezing cars, left too near swimming pools, etc. Great way to undo that little moment of passion, once the cyoote factor has worn off.

PV Rattlesnakes Long Ago
|
This isn't too different from what we experienced in PV growing up in the '60's when development would cause rattlesnakes to slither into already built areas. Parents didn't let their young kids outside in the yards without supervision due to the wildlife concerns then, why should today's parents be less responsible for their own children??? I don't get the "Golden Womb" mentality that is rampant today, as if no one else ever gave birth or faced crisis or bad strangers or tainted food or tainted medicines or molestors posing as teachers or whatever else is playing on today's news. We even had corruption in politics, bad cops mixed in with the great ones and budget problems but they were challenges to us all rather than someone else's responsibilities.

Lest you people and the news media forget, we are the ones who have encroached upon their territory by building homes in areas close to their habitats. Leaving kids outside unsupervised in areas surrounded by wildlife corridors is unexcusable and irresponsible on behalf of the parent.

I have a place in Big Bear and in the residnetial areas you see coyote and foxes running around. I don't let my dog go out unattended, much less a child. This Mom lives there and should have known better.

Sad to hear such ignorance in the Lake Arrowhead area. Leaving your toddler unattended with recent coyote attacks. I guess the news does not travel to her trailer park..
