Apex To Extend Old Raleigh Road Sidewalk

Shepherd's Vineyard residents may soon be able to walk from their neighborhood to downtown Apex using a sidewalk on Old Raleigh Road instead of the narrow shoulder.

It's about time. The road needs to be widened so that it's the same before and after the hill. This sidewalk is awesome, but finish the rest as well. That is a very popular cyclist route getting to all of the routes west of town and the bottleneck there is very dangerous for both cyclists and cars.

it's about time. there is absolutely No shoulder to this road, the painted line is right against the grass. This road becomes/comes from Lake Pine which in Cary has a bike lane. They need to make the bike lane continue into Apex for the bikers - I am not a biker - but as the driver it is scary for us to avoid getting into head on collision because of the contour, curves and hills - as sure for the bikers too not wanting to die getting run over. Apex is very popular with bikers from all over. Ditto for Old US 1 (South Salem St), popular bike and no shoulder. They are biking down to Lake Jordan every day.
