You're exactly right. The government employee unions defeated the governor's good proposals by fooling voters with propaganda.Maybe if the unions did not opposed the Governor's efforts to reform the budget in his first year in office, this would not have happened. Instead the union fought him so hard that it made him shy away from reform altogether. This is the union's doing. I am a union member and a very action one. But I recognize reasonable reforms when I see them. If you always get extra during good times then you should get reduction during bad times. Everyone has to budget in their household. Why not the Government?
