I lived in Brooklyn Park for 24 years. I recently moved to Brooklyn Center (63rd Ave N) last April (2009) Brooklyn Center is not NEARLY as bad as Brooklyn Park. I actually feel comfortable here. The neighbors are friendly and even introduce themselves. NEVER happened to me before in Brooklyn Park. I didn't even know people still did that.

every city has crime. Bp is not as far as bad as these people are making it seem. there are alot of problems, but there are problems in every city, they just dont get put into the news as much as say, maple grove or plymouth. some of the biggest drug dealers i knew in high school lived in maple grove. I love brooklyn park, its diverse, close to shopping, nice homes and just has a good atmosphere! stop hatin!

My friends live in the "ghetto southside" of bp, and it not nearly as bad as there people are making it seem. If your not a bigot or a undercover racist your not going to have a problem with the city. All of the neighbors in my girlfriends neighborhood have lived there since the houses were built in the 60's and havnt left thier homes and the neighborhood is wondrful. there are also alot of "minorities" who live in the neighborhood and they are also great neighbors and keep up their homes and are always friendly. I want to see where all these "gangs" are that you people are talking about. I guess if you see a few black kids walking down the street that must mean its a gang. Truth be told, more than 95% of the crime in the city is not random and is targeted at the victims becasue of thier life style, so if you are a upstanding citizen, you have no reason to be scared or have anything to complain about.

I live in Brooklyn Park for the past 11 years. My kids go to school and everything is fine, until you go by the apartment complexes. I would love to move. But being stuck in an upside down mortgage and not wanting to foreclose to get out of the dump. Most of the honest people here are in the same boat as me. Something needs to be done. Like tearing down all the Apartment complexes.

So many people are so scared in Brooklyn park that shows crime rules the streets of the city.

The problem is passive-agressive handling of crime by both local and national law enforcement. They don't want to stir up trouble. Sad. Go back to the days when EVERYONE was held responsible for their actions - each and every single one!

I my goodness people are you serious? Brooklyn Park is ghetto, but how can you say that it is the new north Minneapolis? Brooklyn Center, Richfield, and Hilltop are all worse then Brooklyn Park, and Columbia Heights, New Hope, and Coon Rapids aren't much nicer. In my opinion the reason all you jeks have so much crap to say about BP is ridiculous, and you give it that kind of feedback is because it is a well known city, but has black people living there. Come on lets get real.
