Now hold on a minute. As a black man who supports the NAACP and ACLU, I find this offensive. My grandparents were owned by a plantation and mistreated by society. That entitles me to reap some benefits that society has taken from my people. Finally, we get a great black american as President. Look how much better we are today than a year ago. I hope President Obama changes the term limit and stays in office for the next 30 years!

This is a sign of the times and we are still 40 years behind in the way that school admin. perceives bullying. They don't know what to do so they will shame the victim or claim that they done everything. Everything accept holding the perpetrators accountable to school code of ethics. Everything accept dealing with peer aggression which is on the rise. Principals often sweep these things under the rug because they think it's a bad reflection on them! Not dealing with it effectively is giving them that bad reflection. What are teachers and counselors to do for the victim. The victim should be kept safe and the bully should receive the counseling.
I am lobbying for a safe school whole school approach in my region. I advocate for safety for children and families of the Montgomery County School System, in Maryland.
I have put a entire infrasture together starting with teaching children from grade 3 and up the principals of respecting others which is a tool for success. Respect is no longer taught in the home and your right sister, with more children coming from "unstable" enivornments with all the download of violent cartoons, movies and video game, we are in big trouble and worse. Why can't anyone figure this out? The answers and solutions are easy. We just have to want to do it! I'm hoping that my work will set a standard for the whole Nation to follow. It's necessary and it's time!

I'm sorry Gleaming. I missed something. What do you find offensive? Is this on the bullying issue or another issue?

Okay, got it. Cain - What in the hell do you think your doing? Bullying is not a racist activity but a societal one that knows no color. Where have you been? Parenting went out the window after the 70's and few actually discipline and correct their children for the child's benefit! And it doesn't take guts to "off" yourself. It take total despair and hopelessness! That's exactly why we have to be intelligent about our discussions, pro-active and effective forumlating proceedures that will hold those who think they can bully another student within our schools accountable. This thing can turn around. Children can be saved! I am having great success in our area and I thank God that there are solutions to every problem. WE just have to be willing.

Cain, fyi, parent stopped "parenting" their children after the 70's. They wanted to be friends instead of responsible people who raise healthy children. I don't know where your getting this information from about the NAACP and the ACLU. Bullying knows race. Prayer left the school because it left the home way before hand. People began to feast on leisure, t.v. and video games which have been filled with sex and violence and we are suppose to expect a different outcome.

Come on Cain. I am white and I find your remarks offense too! Not only offensive, but immature and ignorant to boot. There is NO wisdom in your position and you are not helping anything or anyone.

Also, it doesn't take guts to "off" yourself it takes despair and hopelessness. The only place I agree with you Cain is that the parents obviously was not "in touch" with their own child. Many take things for granted until it too late. Children should be a priority way above anything else. I've seen parents so wrapped up in the conceit of their own lives that they were totally thrown by the suicide attempts or suicide success of their own children.

I pity those who will rely on those infamous words, "Why me?" There's always a reason. Time to wake up America and hold dear the things that are. Stay joined and stay connected to you kid and give no room to that which brings destruction!

Correction onthe above. "Bullying knows no race." Bullying is glorified in the media and in the video games. Our children have great role models these days and they are all electronic!

Valerie said, parents stopped "parenting" their children after the 70's.

The time is about right, parents running to the schools striking teachers, accusing them of mistreating their poor little innocent kids, yeah right. It was about this time, teachers were not allowed to discipline kids anymore, only verbal warnings. The old saying, charity begins at home and so should discipline.

Before anyone gets their drawers in a wad, I'm not talking about beating a child to death, I'm talking about teaching them right from wrong.

why are we fighting over damn names on here?? The issue is of the little boy who tragically took his own life. It saddens me that this happened because I have a son as well who has suffered from being bullied in only pre-school. I can only talk to him and hope that nothing tragic comes of it. I will be praying for the family though in their time of need.

They are taking donations for his family at the Supermart on 78 by the Oxford Exchange. His mother was employed there.

My people? Are you kidding me? You're the problem with society! I am color blind and judge on merit not race. You on the other hand long for the days of when your fore fathers beat "my people" with whips and chains. W Knight - you need to grow up, realize that President Obama is there for you and repent of your hatred.

Gleaming just shut up always about race with you......you all were freed and you got your forty acres and a mule right or your forefathers did and the reason you don’t have it no more is because they wanted spinners and some chronic right! Please cry me a handful no one cares about your name or your opinion a lil boy took his life cause of some comments other people made about him there is hatred everywhere in the world and to me it’s selfish to kill yourself because you’re taking yourself away from the people that actually do give a damn about yourself. In stole self esteem in your kids and let them know how wonderful they are quit putting them down. Teach them about God and this sorta of thing wont happen.

Mule ... forty acres ... spinners ... and you're calling me a racist? It's people like you who speak out with your hatred of all things different from yourself that causes kids to take their life. You are both indirectly and directly responsible for this. You need to find God in your heart and repent - turn from your wicked ways. Cast out your demons and forked tongue!

oh and by the way you do get benefits its called welfare. and as far as Obama staying in the white house another term that is pretty much out of the question because republicans will take back over the senate this time.

Daily Horoscope for December 23

Scorpio

Be careful how you handle a certain someone today because their mood is little short of incendiary. They'll jump down your throat if you dare to disagree with them, and then accuse you of being a wimp if you decide that it would be better to agree with everything they say. You can't win! If they really get on your wick, you'll have to give them a piece of your mind, even if it is supposed to be the season of goodwill to all men. Huh!
