That figures, the administration always says they didn't know. I have been begging for the Lawrence Co. Al school system to do something for years. My son has been the victim of contstant harassment for 5 years. I have been to two schools over and over again. We have changed his school 3 times. How many kids have to commit suicide before the administrators figure out that it is more than just "boys being boys"? This was MURDER and who ever did it should suffer the consequences!!

it deeply pains me that the young man was driven to take his life but not only can we blame certain we have to look at ourselves the examples we show our young people these days; teach them how to survive and triumph and the only way that this can happen is through GOD's holy word and through prayer our children need help if we dont point and show them the way who will another thing we have is unstable homes and when the homes are unstable that creates unstable offsprings these children did not ask to be here so stand up for them

I myself was bullied in school i know how that young man felt but i know his family is saddened by this event and so am i but really believe that before we as humans like this go further we must go back to our landmark were their was prayer and devotion in school let put JESUS back in our schools and in our hearts and lets put more teachers in school who care for these children and more parents to standup with these teachers to help care and give these children the chance and the education and the will power to succedd in life and beat the odds

Who took prayer out of school? Who stopped any physical disciplinary action in school? What kind of disciplinary action is allowed? Suspend them from school so they can go home and learn how to kill and fight on their X box. What have they learned from the suspension. Nothing!!
Who can we blame? "Ourselves".
<quoted text>
i aree with u because blaming never helped any situtation but actually doing something and getting involved we have some serious issues but no one wants to stand but always willing to point the blame but i pray that we all be ready for when he comes because we will have to give in acccount for these things we do and let go by as if we dont even care

Sad event, sorry for the family. This gleaming person needs to go somwhere else to spew her anger.

Teachers, especially those here in the egregiously understaffed and underfunded state of Alabama, cannot be omnipresent parent-surrogates and counselors. It is tragic that cycles of familial and peer emotional and physical abuse continue to spiral. My hope is that a cooperative effort between schools and parents--and kids--can destigmatize the problem (I was bullied and was occasionally a 'mean kid' out of defensiveness).

Why do you think I am "spewing" anger when I am simply telling someone else to use their own name to post their views?
So, you don't mind if someone else uses your name to post their views, instead of coming up with their own name? Interesting.

I just realized that you think Gleaming is a female. Why would you think that? Not the case.

LOL, John, right on. This topix was about a young person that could not see life worth living. Maybe this will be a wake up call to help other folks.

I have now. If you use it again you will be in violation of WHNT Forum posting regulations. I can have you brought up on charges of impersonating a true member of the Gleaming family. You just want to be a Gleaming - you're probably a Jones or Smith!

someone offs themselves and you retards argue over a screen name. study that, learn from it and move on or just step in front of a bus.

to not do either is wasting precious resources a taxpayer could be utilizing.

know whut im say-in, main?

now, about the suicide, it takes guts to off yourself, despair and depression are powerful, yet noticeable, the parents must be too busy making ends meet to notice their child is in dire need. there is only one person to blame and its the society that has let tolerance grow into menaces like the ACLU or NAACP or anything degrading an American system that actually worked for 200 hundred years, until equality and crap like that weakened the infrastructure. starting right around the 60's. a movement is what it was called, but what always failed to make the headline is that is was a BOWEL MOVEMENT, shitting on a functioning economic system til we are where we are today
