Elizabeth Vasquez is dishonest and an irresponsible woman. Knowing the type of woman she is, if Mr. Hundley hit her before, we would have heard about that long before now. She is covering up something and I think she is a liar. Women who have dealt with abusive men before know when another woman is screaming abuse out of anger and spite! This type of abuse of the judicial system should not be tolerated! It makes it hard for those who are honestly going through to get support when it is needed. This is one of those situations. I urge the police to take a close look at Ms. Vasquez. This case is not as open and shut as it appears!

I am upset with the way the system is set up. It is too easy for a man or a woman to fabricate a story and someone must spend the night in jail? I can only guess the jails have many people in holding that have NEVER hit anyone. It is too bad that the community of Palmetto may lose someone who really cares about the future of the children who live there. In our world of self satisfaction, we forget who are the real victims here. Mr. Hunley seems smart enough to not get sucked into a situation that could cause this to happen. Ms. Vasquez must be very tricky!

I don't know elizabeth vazquez, but i do know that Eddie Hundley got her pregnant while he was married to another woman. This is a man kids should look up to? I also know that he got her pregnant when he was the assistant principal at Daughtry - do the math the child was born in august 2004 - Hundley as at Daughtry from fall 2003 until his promotion to palmetto as principal. At the time vazquez was working in the sarasota school district, just as hundley's soon to be ex-wife. What kind of man cheats on his wife with a teacher in her same district? and then, Vazquez had to file a suit against the man to get him to own up to his responsibility. Palmetto elementary deserves a principal the kids can look up to, ed hundley is not that man. Michelle wrote: Elizabeth Vasquez is dishonest and an irresponsible woman. Dave get a clue, he was sleeping with her while he was married to another woman. The district has a morals clause, this isn't a violation? he sold himself to the parents of the school as a family man. Also, he was arrested for stalking in 2002 in Sarasota county, stalking a woman he was not married to. That charge was also dropped.....see a pattern here dave? The man thinks with the wrong part of his body Dave wrote: I am upset with the way the system is set up. How typical! Michelle from Atlanta, A) who are you living in Atlanta and posting this? B) why blame the woman? Mr. Hundley is a 6'6" man and well, let's say she isn't. And remember, this was not a call placed by the victim, Ms. Vasquez, it was a call made by neighbors who saw this happen in their front yard! He has been in trouble ever since he's been in this area. And as a parent of students at Palmetto Elem., he never appeared "too smart" or even quick on his feet at all. He appears to be "slick" which is why he has moved around so much. He has much deeper issues lying beneath the surface that need to be addressed. If this District allows him to come back, whose going to be next? A child? Not to mention, isn't it the children we should be concerned about here? I mean the students at Palmetto Elem. know about his arrest. How do you think they will feel? And what kind of example are we setting for them? Ms. Michelle, why persecute the victim? Why assume she is in the wrong? are you Mr. Hundley's new girlfriend since he went to look for a job up in your area. See that he gets hired. Let us hear from you when you are the victim, okay?

PLEASE! TOO SMART? Used in the same sentence with Mr. Hundley...sure. You must be his best friend who tries to find redeeming qualities as best you can! Yeah, go ask some enforcement officers how many men are in the Jails who haen't done anything Dave. See if they laugh in your face. Look at the statistics. 98% of violent crimes are committed by men. Ms. Vasquez is a simple woman who had to sue this man to even own up to his paternity. to keep her quiet, while his wife was leaving him, he puts her in his home as to not pay child support. come on. Yeah, she's a real MEANIE out to get Eddie C. Not happenin'. Dave, you need to get your facts straight and know the whole story. Ed C. Hundley and "tto smart" should never be in the same sentence! Last I checked, it took TWO people to lay down and make a baby. You are so quick to come to the defense of this woman...you forget, she took part in it knowing that Ed was seperated!! Elizabeth is NOT the victim here. She lied to the police and she lied to get the money to got out of town. I not only know Ed, but I know her also. It is a shame that the claims of this woman have totally turned a town against a man who most people don't even know. I am willing to bet that there are many men in Florida, perhaps even someone you know who had a relationship outside of marriage. If you were to take a poll of the entire Manatee/Sarasota districts, you would be surprised what would come to light. Perhaps you should examine ALL the facts before you pass judgment.

For your information, "Josie" if that is your real name... I know not only Ed but I also know Ms. Vasquez. You seem to suffer from that same sickness that most people from that town are suffering from... speaking without having all of the facts! I spoke to Liz a week before this "supposedly" happened. She was not in any danger and actually, we spoke about a trip she was possibly taking with Ed. So, PLEASE don't tell me about the victim. Obviously, I know more about these two than you do. You, like most people there are not equipped with the intelligence to be OBJECTIVE in a situation like this. You ask why am I so quick to condem her (the "victim") why are people so quick to condem Ed? His ex wife never made any claims of abuse. He doesn't have a record of hitting or striking women so what makes him so guilty now? And yes, "Ms. Josie" I am from Atlanta, but I used to work with Mr. Hundley when I was in Florida. I am a happily married woman married so your comment about me being his next girlfriend is way out of line. But then again, not for a person from Sarasota/Manatee Co. Seems you all like to speak about topics you know nothing about! Always have your facts straight before you speak Josie, Rick, Richard, whoever you are. Common sense 101. Oh, one last thing. Me? Victim? Yes I was... From 2002-2004. That's why I left Florida. I know abuse like the back of my hand and I can spot an abused woman a mile away. So, please don't begin to tell me about Liz being the victim. When you become a woman who has left an abusive man, then you may have the priviledge to sit at the table with me and have a conversation. By the way, you sound an awful like the idoit from the news station that is currently being sued by Ed Hundley. What is it.. Richard Russo? He spoke without having all of his facts straight and it got he and his employer sued!! That would explain all of the negative press from the news. How sad. You people are simply pathetic! Wow... Sounds like there might be a personal agenda here? I only feel sorry for "your" own children Josie and Craig Brazelton. They are going to be brought up in a very judgemental home. I happen to teach at Palmetto Elementary and Yes Mr. Hundley is a friend. I am standing up with him against this attack. That is what people do. That is what you are doing... Standing up for what you believe. I'm proud of you for not sitting back but I am on the other side. I happen to know the children of the parents who want to withdraw their children if Ed is re-instated... Great kids! With a real future. I happen to have taught a couple of them! Great Kids I repeat! Let's look at the progress of All the kids! We at Palmetto Elementary Want Ed Hundley back. Poll the staff. Poll the community. We are Not going to let the voices of a few ruin any hard work we've done as a staff! Please let us move forward and do the right things for the students.

the fact is this, Ed Hundley does not have the moral fiber or leadership skills to lead an elementary school - ask the teachers who aren't afrad to talk
Another fact, the manatee school district promoted ed hundley even though he was engaging in the same behavior - marital infidelity - that got him into trouble in Sarasota County. Check the court records - august 2002 - even though the stalking charge was dropped, why was he stalking one woman when he was married to another???
Elizabeth Vazquez gave birth to a child fathered by hundley - again check the sarasota county court records, she had to file a suit against him to prove he was the father - in august 2004. That would mean the child was conceived in the fall of 2003, when mr. hundley was the assistant principal at Daughtrey......i thought school employees were held to a higher regard????? How can anyone tell me that Mr. Hundley was the best candidate for the Palmetto job given these facts????? dave???? still there????

..... "the fact is this, Ed Hundley does not have the moral fiber or leadership skills to lead an elementary school - ask the teachers who aren't afrad to talk..." Are there any? I am one of many who would speak up and have..... and will continue to as long as there are people who want to continue to "stir the pot". Time will tell who Mr. Hundley really is? In the meantime let us Not interrerupt the learning that is going on by people who are there making a difference in the children's lives. Thank You Walker from San Diego. Dave Thomas

Wow, it's amazing what people will say about you behind your back. Well i am here now, michelle, dave, josie, craig et all.......i am hear to inform that Eddie C. Hundley's suit against me and my former employer is being thrown out. I never got to tell my story in court because Mr. Hundley couldn't find an attorney to take his case after his original attorney quit the case over a year ago. The suit never had one ounce of merit, none, zero, zilch and if mr. hundley could have found an attorney to take the case it would have been told in court. All i did to cause mr hundley to sue myself and my former employer is to question the decision to promote hundley to principal at Palmetto ES after mike rio left. He was not the best candidate. There's my two cents./

Ric Russo, How ridiculous is this site that it will allow any idiot to voice their oppinion about matters He knows nothing about. I have researched the progress of that school, and it appears it has had the best academic performance years ever under that leader. I have also discovered that he is the only black male ever to work at that school.... you think that has anything to do with it. Your claims about a lawsuit are ridiculous as well. If there is a suit with no validity, it wouldn't take that long to be dismissed. Maybe, it isn't worth the effort needed to fight an entire slanted establishment. This campaign started over two years ago, and the guy is still at the school doing a fantastic job with the students. The district and the state obviously appreciate his work or he would have been dismissed. Statistics don't lie, and according to the stats Hundley is one of the best your county has. If he were guilty of anything, there is no doubt he would have been fired or lost his certification from the state; niether has happened. In addition, I noticed you said "former" employee, so I researched that as well. I would worry about why you have been fired from ABC 7, The Bradenton Herald, and every other media source in your area. I guess there was no validity to that either. Perhaps you are an angry, racist, out of work "former" member of the media that has to resort to this method for being heard. Pathetic! I contacted Hundley, and he had too much class to discuss you, he only spoke of the wonderful things taking place at his school. Anyone reading this trash found on this site should take the time to contact members of that school district or even the principal himself so that you can truly see how ridiculous this entire three year slander effort is. As far as Mr. Russo is concerned, you can contact The Bradenton Herald, or ABC 7 and they will share with you their feelings and why they FIRED him. Russo should be spending time trying to find a job, Hundley has one and is performing at a level worthy of recognition! See for yourself Palmetto Elementary School 834 7th street west Palmetto, Fl. 34221 Dear Racist Buster (Elizabeth Vasquez?), You obviously didn't do your homework very well. I left both ABC 7 and the Bradenton Herald for better paying jobs at larger news organizations with more opportunity to advance, which i have done by the way. The reason it took so long for the lawsuit to get 'thrown out,' is because the plaintiff's lawyer quit the case and the plaintiff couldn't find another attorney to take it - i know he tried. I live in Palmetto, not Virginia and I see what is going on at the school. There are great kids and faculty at the school - a lot of them. That said, a number of quality students and faculty have left in the past two years. There is still plenty of good going on at that school but it's got nothing to do with the current principal. In closing, this issue has nothing to do with race. The Manatee County School district says they hold their employees to a higher standard. When Eddie Hundley was picked to replace Mike Rio he was not the best candidate for the job. It's that simple. If he is so good and has the stats behind him that you suggest Racist Buster, then why has he been employed by three school districts since 2002? It seems to me if a district had such a quality leader they would want to keep him or her. And speaking of leadership, why has nothing been done during Hundley's tenure to replace the old, mold-infested school? Wouldn't the district and his good friend Dr. Dearing listen if Hundley told them how bad the issue is? and how badly the school needs to be replaced? sincerely Ric Russo

Sounds to me like a matter of pride now Mr. Russo. Men like you that have to say "I was right" are most of the time petty and have Low self-esteem. There is little doubt that this was Not about the most qualified person but more about trying to get things to be the way Mr. Russo wanted them. Maybe not race.... But maybe. Anyone who has lived in Palmetto for any length of time... Like myself, can tell you this is a small community that is feeling the closing in of both the Hispanic and African American population. There is a group like Mr. Russo that would like things to stay the way they were. I do hope Mr. Russo is happy having taken his children out of the school. He should now move on and thank God he does have a job he enjoys, with no one still busting his chops. Live and let live folks!

WOW! For a hard working man like Mr.Russo, he sure has a lot of free time to criticize Mr.Hundley. First of all Ric, you need to get a life and leave the man alone, you look so ridiculous writing such negativity about a person you know nothing about. Take your writing skills and write an autobiography, and than maybe you will spend less time focusing on Mr.Hundley. You say your kids are no longer students at Palmetto El, than don't worry about the leadership, or the mold that has been there for many years, take your problems elsewhere and stop with this nonsense! No wonder why you were fired from your other jobs, you like to stir the pot when there is nothing in it!
