I have not, but I often drive by the business. What do they do?

They resell Kirby vaccum cleaners door to door. But they post misleading job listings to get workers. Like:"Carpet Cleaners Wanted". And I hear they only pay small finders fees to workers.

Yes, I worked for them in 2007, and I can tell you that they are very shady. First I saw one of those supposed "Carpet Cleaning" ads of theirs on Craigslist, and slowly found out it was just a door to door Kirby Vacuum job. I think the different Kirby reseller stores tend to be pretty shady in their dealings, and Shy is no exception. We would knock on people's doors and offer a free carpet cleaning of a room, and then afterwords try to sucker them into buying the 2,000 dollar vacuum.
We also didn't get a salary, instead it was all commission-based work, and if you didn't sell a vacuum you didn't get paid some weeks.
I think if you are great sales person, and are very very dishonest and don't have much of a conscience, you can do very well in this business. I left Shy Enterprises (and Kirby) because I felt it was unethical to work there.

Just as I suspected.

I just received a knock on my door yesterday about a free carpet cleaning. I was going to let him do it but I was not available when he was able to bring the crew in. So, I decided to check it out on the web to see who Shy Enterprise was...I am glad that I did not have to sit through a vaccum cleaner demonstration. Thanks for the information regarding the dishonest way to sell vaccums.

Unless you wanted to drop $2000.00 on a $100.00 floor cleaner you did the right thing.

6 friends of mine including myself worked as Kirby salesmen. Some of us made ok money in the low hundreds and some would make double or more. I myself was not very enthused about knocking door to door with a roll of paper towel or whatever we were given to use along with our college scholarship pitch just to get ourselves in their home. lol just thinking about them days makes me laugh. The stories I would hear that the fellow salesmen would pitch to the possible buyers were hilarious. I was sitting in on a demonstration to learn and the salesman told them that the transmission was designed and manufactured by Porsche. lol I was like omg you have to be kidding me. Not all sales people are as dishonest as him, he was later fired. If you are a high energy enthusiastic person you can and will go far with Kirby. You can make soooo much money and the bonuses are great too. The vacations they give are awesome. If you sell they dont mess around, you will be rewarded. The Kirby vacuum is a great machine and last a long time but they are a little expensive.

I would rather have the Dyson ball. No bags at a fraction of the price. No annoying salesmen at your door either.

Yep me too. The Dyson kicks butt. I put my Kirby in the garage when I purchased a Dyson.

I worked for them for a little while. They are seriously shedy. Their AD is a complete bait and switch to make money for the biggest asshole I have ever met in my life. Larry Shy is a professional scammer who has made millions off of screwing over tons of poor college students and customers who don't know that a Kirby is great... but not worth anywhere near $2,765.

Seriously?$2765? We sold them for $1400 in 1998. Good luck on all that.

Aparently you people don't even have valuable time to waist sicne you already waist it beign stupid and ignorant. Do not talk about somethingthat you know nothing about. Get a life. yes the vaccumes may be expensive but they are definatly worth the money. If you want a hood quality product that actually works then there you go. And people actually do buy them. If someone wants something bad enough they will get it. This buisness has been around for 17 years so I'm not sure why ypu call them shady since they have been around longer then most of you have even been alive. Larry is not a scammer, your the ones who are wscaming people and being shady asshole giving people false information on something you know nothing about. And you want a dyson Ball? go ahead get a peice of shit vaccume that will eventually break down on you in a about 3 years and you have to buy another one. Then again in another 3 years. By then you would have bought more then one vaccume for the cost of a Kirby. Go back to 5th grade and learn about profits and math, you might learn something. You people are very ignorant for believing everything you read online and then just agreeing because you then feel superior and better about your ignorant self.
