Greg Martin was a colleague of mine in the South Carolina Bar. He was a superb lawyer, stalwart citizen and mayor with most of his life devoted to the City of Conway and his family. I valued his friendship and counsel. I extend my deepest sympathy to the Martin Family and to the City of Conway. South Carolina has all too soon lost an honorable and diligent public servant.

I met first met Greg Martin when my grandmother, Odell Anderson, taught him in the fifth grade and until the day she died, she continued to tell me what a wonderful boy great was and what a wonderful man her became. My mother and I also hired Greg to some legal work for us at the time of my grandmother’s death and we found him to be just the man that my grandmother said he was. My heart goes out to his family and friends.

Always heard great things about him.

Greg was a kind tender hearted gentleman. He always showed respect for anyone I took to his office. Loving his Mother just seemed natural for him.

God brings people like Greg in to our lives for a reason. His was to show kindness and mercy. He will be missed greatly. God Bless his Mother.

Can we please get a black man or woman as the mayor or on the city council? I own a predominately black clientel business and do not feel that Conway has or is being represented properly. We can not represent a community that is predominately black when no one that runs that community is black!! As far as the mayor god rest his soul I hope he is in a better place
