How do you figure dems are racist? Because they support unions for hard working Americans? Obama isn't white. Ron Paul isn't a racist? I don't like Hillary at all though. I think she's a novelty and a poor sport. I'm not really stoked on any of the finalists. None of them are who I voted for.

My heart goes out to the dentists family, I hear there is a high suicide rate among dentists...very sad. And kudos to the girl that fought off her attacker, she did what all women should do in that situation...fight fight fight!

Dear Sentinel: Why is the sketch of the child abductor not posted online? Isn't that the purpose of releasing a composite, to inform as many people as possible and find him?

I am shocked to learn about Dr. Newman - I can't even fathom what could have been going on in his life that he would have believed taking his life was the only alternative!! I first met Dr. Newman when I was a Cabrillo College re-entry student and he was running the Dental Clinic and helping to train students to become dental hygenists. He was extremely kind and caring in spite of the fact the visit only cost $25. He certainly wasn't getting rich working there but was definitely giving back to the community! For anyone who would call him "arrogant" certainly didn't know him. God bless his family during this tragic time!!!!

Sentinel! I beg you to please make the comments for these articles available only to registered users with profiles. This way if someone makes a threat of violence or racist hate speech comments they can be held accountable(not all in this post but its all over the comments pages).

It helps other sites keep the forum abuse down...and is a common technique now.

Or they could just regulate the comments better and delete the bad ones. But it would be much better if everyone had to use there real name.

Yeah, my thought exactly....would be too much work for them to have to police every post....but if we were all registered users with profiles then I think we would see alot less inflammatory forum abuse. The disgusting tasteless comments make me sick and I hate to think people see it as a true reflection of our awesome town.

Comments that one person thinks are "disgusting and tasteless" may be interesting and thought-provoking to another. Seriously, why should one person's opinion be "better" than another's? And who would be designated Decider? No one person is ever going to agree with everything someone else says or thinks. That's what makes life exciting and challenging. Difference is what fuels life.

Hitlary- Accusing Hillary of racism because her nomination depends on hard working white Americans is absurd. Apparently Obama's racist too. He has all the black supporters right? Or maybe he's a racist because he sat in Reverand Wright's church for over 20 years, someone who preaches black liberation theology. And you are calling Hillary a racist! You really need to get with the program. At the end its not about black and white, its about right and wrong. Hillary and Obama can be placed in the last category. And guess what you can join them. There's no shortage of space on the internet for flame wars, I just think that a newpaper website isnt the place to spout divisive racist comments, off topic political ranting etc....I consider that abusing an open forum.

I read several blogs and sites where the commenters are registered users...this is beneficial because I think in a face to face situation most jerks would hesitate to spew their crap at us.....its 1000 miles away from your perceived police state concept.

Always assUmeng somebody is part of a group. I'm an individual who wants to speak my mind. I'm quite happy watching the Democrats destroy their party. My accusation is based specifically on her USA Today interview, but anyone who can see the political strategy understands the Clintons have been stoking racism to their benefit for months. Leadership starts at the top.

I'm sure Senator Byrd is giving Hillary tips on how to talk code to the old-timers in W.Va.
