Callao City Clerk

This is the second time in 10 years that someone has caught an employee with their hands in the cities money. The last time it was the city collector I believe. What suprises me this time is that it took so long for Lou Ann to be caught. I think she worked for Callao for over 9 years. During those years I had heard rumors about her always going to the boats. It seems like every place she has worked money has come up missing. Rumor has it that she is gambling hot and heavy.

Oh wow! Did Lou Ann get caught AGAIN. She was stealing money from the City of Clarence too. Several years ago she was the city clerk there. I was surprised that Callao hired her after what she done in Clarence. But then Clarence swept it under the rug so Callao probably didn't even know it. This gal has a record and should be in prison. And yes she is a gambler, always has been.

Does anyone know who actually turned her in...no one seems to know.

Does it matter who turned her in? Although I admit I am curious too. At least this time she is caught and it's not swepted under the rug so to speak. What I want to know is who else was in on it. Word is that she and the Mayor were really tight and that he had his hands in the pot too, and that they have been having an affair for over 8 years and I also heard that an ex-employee of the cities has evidence agaist both the mayor and her from years ago.

Of course all sorts of stories go around when something like this happens but to hear her tell it(and I did from her own mouth) that it was two other people that were stealing and that the city was offering her the job back and was going to apoligize to her publicly.

known the family for many years, been around Clarence most of my life, round 40 years or so. She ain't never been worth a hoot. She's been married more times then you can count on two hands, kids ain't worth much either. I kinda feel sorry for the rest of her family havin someone like her in the family. she ain't nothin but poor white trash. Lots of us knew she was guilty when everythin happened in clarence, still ain't figured out how she got away with that one, Her daddy was a fine man and probably rollin over in his grave seein how she is. and her poor momma havin to live with this. she guilty allright.i hope this time they got her.

I am trying to remember how many husbands Louann has had, lets see, the kids dad when she was married to him they lived around Hannibal somewhere, hear tell he is in prison. Then the one from Clarence she was married to ( he died earlier this year), then the one from out east somewhere I think his name was George or something like that. Then, hummm was she married to Roger? then Jerry. I think I may have missed one or two. She has gotten around these past 60 or so years hasn't she? I just wonder how come you never hear of her divorcing any of these men? And who is she married to now? Her ex posted on KTVO saying she was doing all sorts of illegal activities including her tax returns. She is a slick one thats for sure.

I know a friend of mine that says she has a daughter that lives in Macon. From what she says, her daughter inherited her momma's marrying jean. I guess she has been married several times too and isn't very old, got several kids from what I have been told too. Guess she goes after the ones she thinks has the money. Anybody else know anything about Louann? How many kids does she have? My friend said she has a serious gambling problem and wasn't surprised that she had to find some way of funding it. Maybe she should have tried finding a second job to pay for it legally.

Who cares, she got busted and that is all that matters!!!!

LouAnn has 3 living children (1 boy and 2 girls) and one boy died of cancer when he was about 5. She has been married 4 times that I know of. Larry was her first husband and father of the kids, Wayne was second and passed away a few months ago, then she was married to a guy that last name was George and now she is an Allred. Her oldest has kids by two or three different women, not for sure how many. He has been in prison for stealing and drugs. Oldest daughter has been married three times at least. Youngest daughter has been in prison for drugs and doesn't have custody of her two kids, they live in Clarence with their grandma. LouAnn has always had quite the reputation..and not a good one either. She does have a gambling problem, everything from lottery tickets to bingo to casinos.

Just to clarify...the kids that live with their grandma in Clarence...ARE NOT with LouAnns' mother. They are with their dad and his mother.

Out of towners were not the only ones harrassed by the so called city cop. Many of the residents in Callao were also harrassed by this so called officer. Fortunatly he is no longer working for Callao. Besides Callao he also harrassed many New Cambria residents and while working for Macon County Sherrifs Department he spent plenty of time harrassing all of Macon County. So don't feel like you are the only one that has suffered from the likes of him. Macon County is better of without him.

It is not just the city that is hurt because of what Lou Ann did. Every resident was at her mercy. As for the ex local cop, he was out of control and was a dear freind of Lou Ann's. His way of carrying out laws did not only hurt Callao but every town he ever worked for including Macon County. Most Callao residents are just saying goodbye to bad trash when it comes to these two.
As for the Fiesta-as long as the good ol' boys club runs everything it will never change and most of the Callao residents don't even attend. We'd rather go to Bevier!!!

I used to live in Clarence 72-77 and only knew if Lou Ann Taylor and Lou Purdy. Neither one of those -- so who is this Lou Ann?

She is originally from Clarence the maiden last name is Gander. She moved to Callao about 11 years ago and went to work for the City about 8 years ago. Apparently while working for the City of Clarence she did this type of thing too but the city swept it under the rug and hear tell that the now deceased ex husband paid back the City of Clarence over $25,000 on that incident.

Unfortunatly, since Clarence swept this under the rug when Callao did the back round check the found nothing.

Nope, the one that works at the prison is still working at Callao. The one that worked for the Sherrifs department was the problem. He really made a name for himself didn't he?

I knew a Larry Gander but he worked at the Newspaper in Shelbyville and was married to I believe Marge Langhammer.

His name is Morris, & the last I heard from relatives still living in Callao, he still WORKS for the city! His oldest son in HS has been in trouble alot, lives with him, Morris' daughter lives with her mother. Then Morris married some girl about 15 yrs. younger, & has 2 little girls with her now. Still lives in Callao. Guess he owes months worth of water bills, too. Doesn't have to pay? Hmmmmmmmmmmm

The one that no longer works for Callao is "TJ", Tessler Stephenson. According to the Macon County Sheriff Dept. website, it appears that he still works there!
