Puppy mill problem?

We all have the right to sell our pets, our pet's offspring and pets that need a good home. Why are you being so PITA about this person?
We have seen across Texas a campaign, and I think you are trying to get it off the ground here that is making it almost impossible to raise and sale pets as a hobby or even for a living.I think that it is our first ammendment right to have as many pets as we wish! That we take proper care of them is our obligation to God and man, as well as the anemals.

I've seen these people. They're constantly out there selling mixed breeds- which is NOT responsible breeding, and it happens way to often to just be their family pet. This needs to be investigated.

It is a person's right to breed their dog if they choose...BUT there are so many homeless pets.

If the breeder is not taking care that the puppies they sell are going to a responsible home shame on them. We spay and neuter all our pets, it is the only responsible thing to do. Backyard breeders do not take care to watch for temperment and health problems.

I believe that irresponsible breeding is in a large part to blame for the 'pit bull' fright that many people have. Due to bad breeding practices there are many dogs out there that may look like pits that aren't or are only part pit and they are more aggressive than they should be.

Unless you have a purebred dog and you are making sure that the people you sell to are being responsible (as much as you can) you shouldn't. It isn't good for the dogs or people. If every pet owner, who only wanted a pet and isn't a breeder, spayed or nuetered their pet there would not be so many unwanted dogs and cats in the shelters.

Also having a dog produce multiple litters a year is very cruel to the animal. What woman would want to be pregnant all the time? I am expecting my 7th baby (I love babies!) but I wouldn't want to have a baby every 11 mos (which is comparable to a dog having 2-3 litters a year)

joyfulmama...you must be rich I can't imagine the expense of giving 7 children a good life, home and education. Just college planning alone must be a fortune. Or are they just planning on welfare and food stamps?

i know of a puppy mill here close to amarillo which the dogs are keept in kennels they are never taken out or played with their only purpose is to produce offspring its cruel im glad somebody is finally trying to stop this

Well Michelle if you know of puppy mill have you reporotedit to amaillo humane society?if you know animalsareliving in poor conditions and arent being well-cared for then it is your repsonsiblity to notify proper authorities.
