There is absolutely NO reason for the dispatchers to have made that decision! That would be like a secretary to a medical office deciding that a doctor didn't need to know something was wrong with their patient--not qualified to make the decision--don't do it!!!

Wow talk about blowing it. They should both be fired i would say. But how about the driver who thought they hit a person and didnt stop to check. They just called 911 and just drove on? Would like to know more about that.

I know I'm repeating what has been stated ? the operators should be fired & management should be reprimanded your only as good as your management. for some reason these operators thought that what they did not do was OK look at who should be in charge ?

Hmm... Let me get this straight.... They "feel bad" and "unfortunately" someone "should have" been sent??!!! WHAT??!! I thought people call 911 because they NEED help!?!! Sounds like those dispatchers were playing God...and someone paid the ultimate price!! I think they should be disciplined MORE than just receiving "reprimands"! CUT ME A BREAK!!!

I'm not into suing people but maybe that family ought to think about a wrongful death suit.... OR better yet, maybe someone should be checking into whether or not those dispatchers could be charged with criminal negligence or something -- someone LOST THEIR LIFE!! And they ALLOWED that to happen. Oh but wait, they "feel bad" and "hate it when tragedy happens"....guess that makes it "OK"... My bad.....

They thought it was the same call. They made a big mistake by assuming. I've made horrible mistakes a few times also, we're human. It's unfortunate but it happens. They'll learn from it and move on.

I Don't think I would be able to handle knowing that my disregard could have cost someone their life.

Hopefully they understand the mistake they made.I would feel better if I knew how the dispatchers were reacting to this situation.

Why haven't we heard of this before now? Sept. 19th? Its November and they are just now getting around to investigating....I say legal action is required of both the department and the operators. They need to be held accountable. yes, people do make mistakes, but most of them do not end up in death. I work for a doctor and somestimes you have to stand up and take responsabilty, and I don't think this communitee is doing so.

I wouldn't say "because of them". They didn't hit her. Maybe (and I stress MAYBE) they could have help prevent it though.

yes they thought they were the same call but still no one was sent!!!!! only a few hrs later a police that just happened to ride by the scene saw the accident! forgetting milk at the grocery store is a mistake, NOT GETTING AN AMBULANCE TO THE SCENE OF AN ACCIDENT WHEN THEY CALL YOU IS JUST PLAIN RIDICULOUS!!!! FAR WORSE THAN JUST A SIMPLE MISTAKE!

Daily Horoscope for December 8

Pisces

You're capable of making some very constructive and important decisions today, particularly where your relations with certain people are concerned. If you're fed up with the way someone has been treating you, you might now decide that the worm is about to turn and you're going to be much firmer about what you're prepared to put up with and what you won't tolerate.
