I have been reading these comments and am horrified by the things being said. They are saying the older lady driving was coming from a party. Do you know them? Do you know the so called party they was coming from? The lady was NOT at a party. She is one of the most loving, caring, holy spirit filled ladies around. We don't know why God lets us go through things but he does. I am veery sorry for the family who lost the loved
one. But please get the facts straight before you start saying things. It was very dark, you don't expect someone to be in the MIDDLE of the road. There is no way I would sit on a back road with OUT a cell phone after just hitting something. I would go and call from help. You also don't know if she did not stop and look to see what she hit. I am pretty sure that on the news it said that NO ONE could see what was hit. I think this is a time for people to quit tring to turn an awfull accedent into more than just that and find a stronger relationship with God. He is the only one who can give peace and comfort to both families, because their is TWO families grieving right now.

Ok I just read some updates on this and it makes me feel terrible for the family finding out that this old person could do such a terrible thing. 1st the headlights and tail lights were on so the old lady would of had seen something was wrong and should of had slowed down. And 2nd in a scene like that if you hit something more than likey it is not a animal. She FLED from the scene. She did not return to offer any help. I mean seriously what are the chances of hitting a animal in a situation like that. She just treated her like a animal and that is not fair when she is still sitting around at home with her family. This is just to sad that the family is suffering like this.

I am 32 i cant hardly see to drive at night so I wont hardly do it but if i do I drive slow exspecially over hills around curves I understand this woman is an older woman but laws are laws you are not to leave the scene of a accident. She knew what she hit she panicked if she would tell the trueth thats what she would say.I dont know about jail but she should lose her license for the rest of her life not be able to drive at all but if it comes out that she knew what she hit i think she should go to jail sorry i am allowed to have a oppinion and this is mine. One question though if your afraid to stop and check on what u hit then why was you driving so late at night accidents happen at night to.I dont know maybe i just feel really harshly about this because i dont like people that cause a accident then are cowards and run away and if you runners would stop and think if i would just stop and help i wouldnt look bad.To the family that lost this young lady i am so sorry i dont know you but i wished i could take the pain away.

I agree with Caring from Clarksburg, WV. You should not judge until all the facts are in, I know the driver and she will not even kill a spider because it is one of God's creation. There
is no way she would have ever hurt anyone for any
reason. She is a good christian lady and she knows
she has to live with what happened for the rest of
her life. It is a terrible accident and my heart goes out to both families. I pray thit God will comfort both of them during this horrible time.

The spider thing just trips me totally out!!! COME ON!!! Speeding ticket (55 in a 35) and running a red light. By the age of 68, we know right from wrong. Do I feel bad for her? Yes, I do! But I feel worse for those little kids!

Hopefully this old woman at least got her license taken away. I agree all older drivers should be required to re test. Maybe even be required to test at night since that is when most of these issues are happening. Either way, this does sound like an accident but I can't figure out how she drove away afterwards. If there is a car with the lights on right by the road, how can you not even wonder if it was a person you've hit? Sounds like she got scared and lied...She souldn't be in jail for having the accident, she should be in jail for how she failed to handle her mistake.

Ok this is all crap. She killed someone and left the scene. Didn't even return to offer help. I know she had to of had seen what she hit. Need to get the facts straight here. She killed someone end of story. I had a friend that was in a accident like that. The guy left the scene and spent time in juvenile.

First of all, I cringe when I think of kids being scared in church. What an unfortunate and needless experience.
I have noticed the churches being half full. Do you want God to do it all??? God doesn't allow those things to happen. MAN allows those things to happen. Our prisoners have more rights than our Governor!!! We have been given the knowledge and power to prevent abuse and to treat illness, but somebody came along and said; "hmmm let's see how we can mess this up". What I'm getting at is, we don't ask for stiffer penalties so that repeat attacks on women by the same person can't happen. I've been there, I know! We have medicine to treat illness, but we can't afford the treatment. We don't have jobs, so that breeds stress etc. etc...God gave us everything and we took advantage of it. Greed and control have turned our country upside down. We always complain but never do anything (well...vote) to try to change things. We want it handed to us. We are now a country that feels comfortable living with enough money to get our fixes. And not to blame us for that, it's just what we've become accustomed to by no choice of our own, most of the time. When things are going wrong, it's easy to blame God. But, when things are going right who do you thank? You get out of it what you put in. For once, why doesn't our Leaders' try the "trickle-up" affect? It's always the trickle-down! Bring jobs back!!! Our leaders' shouldn't be allowed to own foriegn interests. Yet, no probem there! Give us a job. Something to cling to, to be proud that we can support our family. To have the power to purchase (which in turn will boost the economy). So, don't blame God. Get up and do something!!! He gave you the power to move mountains!!! USE IT!!! Do something to stop abuse and cancer and hunger!!! It only took one person to give us this earth...It only takes one person to make a difference. We, as a nation are self destructing. We've become a nation of spineless, selfish, inconsiderate, complainers. What has happened to us???
Here's the basics about god. If it's bad, blame man and his free will. If it's good, credit god. If it's bad and somehow you believe god had a hand in it, then god works in mysterious ways that mere mortals like us could no possibly comprehend.

Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able?
Then he is not omnipotent.
Is he able, but not willing?
Then he is malevolent.
Is he both able and willing?
Then whence cometh evil?
Is he neither able nor willing?
Then why call him God?

The truth finally came out. The older lady did call the SHP to report hitting something. Said she thought it was a deer. The 2 dispatchers on duty decided it wasn't worthy of a deputy to be sent to check things out. Come to find out they were wrong!! They have been discplined but not fired. Possibly that is what needs to be done. Remember, you can always second guess any decision, but this is one that the dispatchers and the older lady will have to live with for the rest of their lives. I think that is punishment enough!

Also, my mother is 72. If she hit something on that road at that time of night I wouldn't want her to stop and get out to check. That woman did the right thing by going home and calling 911. If she had gotten out of her car there is a good possibility that another car could have come along and hit her also. Moral of the story-If your car breaks down, stay in it, don't put yourself in jeopardy by getting out, you're much safer staying in. Also, if it is late at night and you are walking down a lonely road there is always the chance some pervert will happen upon you and kidnap you and do who knows what to you. Stay in the car with the windows up and the doors locked!!!
