Who cares if it was the Rumsey Rancheria Fire Department or the Capay Valley Volunteer Department? The point of the article was that a person lost their life from the accident. Quite possible the CHP spokesperson said exactly what was printed becasue it just does not matter.

I was just pointing out that there is no such thing as "Rumsey Volunteer Fire Department". But "Not the point" made a good point.

The Davis Enterprise website had breaking news which identifies the individual as Robert Wion, 61, retired Sheriff's Deputy of Brooks. And that was reported about 2 hours ago.

I saw this accident yesterday and had been following them from Esparato until the casino. It was VERY bad. Broke your heart to see the man lying there and all involved. The law enforcement & ALL fire personnel (doesn't matter where they are from) did a wonderful job.

Thats right Local, they do have their own fire houses actually. But they are part of the Capay Valley Fire dept. So was the person who died the one who had been drinking or was it the other driver?

You really should learn how to read before you post stupid comments that defame a person who died in an accident.

A person, Bob Wion, who was of high moral charachter and fiber. Bob was a "salt of the earth" guy who would go out of his way to help a person. A guy who never was too busy to stop and say hello and chat when you ran into him.

The article clearly stated that alcohol was not involved. You owe the family of this fine man, and all of us that knew him an apology for your careless, hurtful comment.

My POINT was, yes there is a firehouse in Rumsey...just as in Guinda, and Brooks...and so on. The volunteer fire department IS in Rumsey...They have trucks, and all equipment needed...and the Volunteer's for that station...LIVE IN RUMSEY....Meaning volunteers fired department IN RUMSEY....and I agree...read your facts...No alcohol involved...

Not only is the Rumsey Fire Department (station 25) NOT a volunteer agency but is also one of just a hand full of departments in the state that is a firefighter/ paramedic agency and is the only one of it’s kind in the county.

The other station in Brooks is CAL- Fire which is not a volunteer agency. And the station in Guinda is Capay Valley Fire Department.
I am so sorry

Do you folks miss the point of the article? A human life was lost in a terrible collision. Alcohol was not a factor. Who cares about the voluntary status of the fire departments in the valley? They all do a great job, and they all are there on the front line when you need them. CHP Officer Grudil told the media what he knew at the time. He was one of the first responders on scene. When a fatality is involved you must be careful what information is released. Again, life was lost, show a little compassion for everyone affected if you know how?

I had the opportunity to work with Bob & to get to know him. He was an asset to the Yolo County Sheriff's Office and the community. A genuine gentleman. Bob will be dearly missed. My condolences for his family. May he rest in peace.

I had the opportunity to work with Bob in Winters PD about 30 years ago. He was a good Cop and was well liked by all who knew him. We spoke by phone about two years ago but never had the opportunity to meet again. My deepest condolences for the family. Please write me if there is anything that I can do in this hour of nead. Daily Horoscope for December 26

Gemini

Mercury will backtrack through your finances over the next few weeks, which isn't a very seasonal thought if you're already well aware that you've overspent this month. Be prepared to do some juggling or to seek expert advice if you're worried about how you're going to cope. You may be kept busy handling inheritance, tax or insurance matters, preparing investment analysis, and allocating funds for the repayment or collection of debts.
