Wouldn't it be great if the NTHS and the State Comptrollers Office would come back and shut down the breeders at Bowie Trade Days too.

The seizure of the dogs is a civil case, once it is disposed of then criminal charges may be sought

1 Criminal trumps civil, NOT the other way around. They're probably just gathering information before pressing charges (if any)... 500 dogs is a lot to sort through. |

If they win the civil case it will only make the criminal case stronger |

1 I trust by your response that you don't have a clue what law was broken? |

they didnt even have water out for some of the dogs. is that how you keep YOUR dog in 102 degree heat?
im talkin morals not laws. i dont care if they dont ever charge em- tho it would be nice if they did. im talkin about the much broader moral issues of personal responsibility, animal cruelty, overpopulation of domestic pets, and the lack of oversight into puppy mills. let me ask you this though, if you dont mind. do you, gotellitonthemount, think that Heddins Puppt Mill should have been raided or not? |

I strongly support you gottogetamuchlongernameto!!! I support the Humane Society as well as the ASPCA are any animal rescue group for that matter. Im just curious to know if gotellitonthemountain saw the same news report I did?? I can tell you I know what laws are broken when I see pictures of animals with matted hair, starving, broken jaws trying to retrain themselves to eat so they want starve to death, dogs with cataracts in their eyes they can know longer see, and the list keeps going on. If that doesnt spell ANIMAL CRUELTY then I dont know what does. Yes ANIMAL CRUELTY is breaking the law!!!!
I will be glad when next week is over and the Judge rules on who gets the animals. I know who I am voting for!!!!! |

yes yes yes!!! i was so gashdang mad and upset at those moefoe's!!!! i saw the news too!!@#$$#% broken jaws!!!%^%^&#%^no water!!!%^*(^$ them for doing this!!!@#$@ them they should have to eat with broken jaws!!
bottom line: Heddins's Abused Dogs Lives For Profit! break your freakin jaw heddins now you eat! live in a pasture with no water! F the freakin Heddins Puppy Mill F 'em hard |

1 I'm opposed to puppy mills but I also believe in personal rights and if laws aren't changed its going to continue. How would you feel if someone thought your morals were not up to someone elses standards so they took your children. Laws should be enacted that spell things out in black and white so there's no subjective feelings involved - either its right or its wrong. If these folks violated the law they need to be charged and have the book thrown at em! The pictures on TV that I saw - the pups looked normal. Hence my original Q |

500 dogs? wow that's like a whole brick of .22 shells!

I can tell each of you that I personally work with 2 different SPCA. I will also guarantee that people who work at the humane society or spca do there best to educate people who have animals. Their sole purpose in life is not to go and seize people's animals. They only do it when they have to and when there is plenty of evidence to do so. These organizations are NON-PROFIT and work off of DONATIONS alone. So taking in 496 dogs is a huge expense and I feel sure that if it could have been prevented they would have done so. These so called people left them with NO choice but to seize their animals.
As for the above comment, I will not even waste my energy to comment to you. Its people like you that should be banned from ever owning any type of animal.. |

You think CATARACTS are ANIMAL CRUELTY? Seriously? Cataracts? |
|||
|
It is when they are not treated. It just adds to all the other reasons the animals were seized.

JP Reynolds wrote the actual search and seizure warrant, does this mean that she will make the decision on whether the Heddins get these animals back or will it be another judge?

Again you astound me. You want them to spend more than $2k (and I'm bidding low) per dog for cataract surgery? Who in their right mind would do that? It's not like they need to read street signs. Unless they left them a few miles from their kennel without food or water, I don't see the cruelty in not treating dog cataracts. The rest, sure... but cataracts, get real. |
