You know I read this stuff in the papers see it on the news. We get morons that beat their kids thinking it is punishment and we get parents that are afraid to punish and let there kids rule the nest. I think the parents in this case should be held accountable and the kids should be expelled and sent to a detention center.
And us as responsible parents need to tell the government to butt out of our home lives and let us do what is necessary with our children.

Kid needs a lot more than a slap on the hand.....sounds like some serious anger/aggression issues.

I agree there is some anger issues. Broken home maybe? The child needs some intervention and mentoring - young boys often grow up without out a possitive male role model. Guys - are any of you ready to step up to the plate - Gals too, we need positive female role models as well. We need to move back in time to fix the issues of todays kids.

Maybe his father abandoned because he was married to a couple other women......you just can't predict the uncovered pain a child will carry and just at what point in their life they'll explode!!

Actually, I believe this little punk was also the one using the skateboard as a weapon, unless I read the article wrong.

I dunno what to make of this... it's been nearly ten years since Columbine, and all the "anti-hazing" and "anti-bullying" crap has failed to materialize to a point where children feel they can talk to their elders about it.

Instead, hope is taken from them one day at a time until nothing is left but an empty shell of a person, filled with anger and hurt.

The hopelessness manifests itself in such a way as we saw with Harris and Kliebold, Weise, Seung-Hui Cho, and all the rest... in their mind there's nothing left for them but to lash out and make others feel the same hurt they're feeling.
