Altoona Man Sex Abuse Charge

According to the Associated Press and the New London Day newspaper today, an Altoona man named Eugene Ronco has been ordered to pay $1.5 million by a judge in Connecticut as the result of a court case charging the Altoona man with sexual abuse dating back to the time when he was a teacher and administrator in the West Hartford, CT school system. Is this true?!

The Altoona Mirror was fully informed about the story, which ran in newspapers across the country because of an Associated Press wire report, but the Mirror has chosen not to write a single word about a man living in Altoona and ordered by a court in CT to pay $1.5 million to the victim of sexual abuse. That's journalism of the highest order. The editors and writers at that paper should be very proud of themselves...they really served the public interest.

Did the paper finally run a story on this case?

The fair and accurate thing to do is to report it.

Why would they run the story....it will only make Altoona look worse than it already does

I really don't care about how Altoona will look. There are people in Altoona that would want this published. This man lives in a neighborhood that I am sure has unsuspecting parents/children. Parents need to be made aware....This person could be befriending them/their child right now and if they don't know it could happen to yet another child....Leopards don't change their spots and if by running the story one child is protected it is worth getting the "bad reputation" that Gettingback2life says Altoona has.

Let me set the record straight I LEFT that awful town for the way the place has become...I do not and will not defend that awful place that is VERY VERY one sided...you know th right people and no one will ever know your secrets...sooooo maybe this awful man knows someone....I could care less about the stupid town....I don't miss it!!!

If you go to the Topix site for West Hartford, CT you will find lots of discussion about this case, since they believe that there are abusive teachers and administrators on the payroll. And that's the system Eugene Ronco of Altoona, PA came from. It wouldn't surprise me if legal action would have to be taken in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania to write the end of this sordid story.

FYI, I know there are teachers in the Altoona Area who are guilty of abuse as well, however....some never made it to court because the kids didn't know what to do when they were "kids"......some are still teaching too..how sad

Eugene Ronco is a victim of a disgruntled former student who has no concept of what he is doing to a very good man.Eugene has been good to myself,my wife and my children and all of his neighbors and friends.Anytime you put the words sex crime and a persons name in the same sentence,it will ruin a persons life such as it did to Eugene! This is not the way to get back at a former teacher because he failed you in a class. Also,no criminal charges were ever filed! IT'S ALL ABOUT MONEY!

Ronco says he is a Penn St grad. I dare you ask him when he graduated, then ask Penn St to verify it.

Look at all the affidavits from the many children now adults who came forward, not just one child.

Look at the CT Board of Education independent investigation of Ronco, his underage porn, underage drinking, falsification of his educational credentials.

You are not a bad person whom Ronco has taken advantage of, just ahve the courage to ask him whom he has had a heterosexual relationship with over the last 40 years, and ask him to verify it.

Don't be afraid of the answers you find. This is how pathological liars who happen to be child molesters operate. They don't come forward, just hide behind naive sincere people like you and your family
