All of these events are held in public venues and are open to the public. The emphasis is always on fun, all-ages, social events.” Organizers say that they plan to double if not triple the event, in scope and in attendance. They ask attendees to “wear the brightest red shirt that they have, with hopes to flood the park with a sea of red shirts.” Explaining what the event is, organizers begin by saying what it is not: a circuit or dance party; a women or men-centric festival and event; a politically-oriented event “like most gay pride celebrations.” What it is, they stress, is “simply a fun, all-ages social event for all members of the GLBTQ community, along with all of its friends, families and supporters.” Single day admission tickets to the theme park are $47.95 and single day admission tickets to the water park are $39.00. I am a huge dolly fan but won't go to the park on those days just because I have a young child who i don't feel comfortable with having to explain those types of things to. I don't have a problem with the glbtq community wanting to have fun, i just don't like it being displayed publicly in front of small children who don't understand things. Don't call me ignorant, i have friends who are glbtq(they have respect enough to not flaunt it in front of young ones) i just don't want my young child exposed to this until they are old enough to understand. I love dolly and know it's probably not even her that makes the decisions for dollywood anyway so we can't fault her for something she may or may not have anything to do with and with all she has done for the community shouldn't we just let it go and be adults. If you don't want to see it then don't go to the park those said days.
