Alsip cops dropped '05 probe of Burr Oak after brief investigat...

Wow, I remember having to sign numerous legal documents to "open" my Grandfathers grave in Detroit to have my Fathers ashes buried on top of him (EAST side of Detroit no less).

Ya'll here just dig 'em up and pitch 'em uncontrolled/unchecked (kinda like your "politicians"). Third world, Chicago. Truly pathetic this black-on-black crime.

the one report of the well-dressed corpse sitting up in a burial vault has me shaking my head. either it was a sick joke played on the part of a cemetery worker (or two), or possibly something far worse happened- somebody may have been buried alive, on purpose. that's murder.

What do you think the qualifications to become a Alsip police officer are? It's an armpit of a town down on the Cal-Sag Channel. You probably just have to know the person in the H.R. Dept. I bet the genius cops down in Normal with their GEDs busting kids with a doobie look like rocket scientists next to these guys. Either that or they were bribed to look the other way...but I doubt they were that savvy.

Why is everything always race related. They were black workers doing it to their own people! Did the Police screw up.... We certainly dont know the whole story and im sure we never will. By the way, even if this was going on since 05, none of the family members whose Loved ones were buried there ever noticed anything suspicious when visiting. Or did they never go visit?

Why would you bring up race? The dispicable acts of "grave robbery" were carried out by blacks against the graves of blacks. Get a life and stop blaming everything on race.

What is also deeply troubling here is that the Funeral Directors seem to be getting a pass on this whole situation. Out of all of the disturbed burials and alleged disarray, not one single Funeral Director was suspicious? I find it difficult if not impossible to believe. They are the representatives of the family. even when there is no graveside service, the funeral director generally overse the burial. They are part in parcel to this whole mess.

Interesting that you fail to mention that the owners of the Cemetary are Black and are being given a free ride thus far. Imagine if this were some caucasion that owned the place - Obama would have commented that the police acted stupidly for arresting the owners and grave diggers and would have made them all sit down for beer. He would then have "recalibrated" his remarks that at lead the police did not disciminate against the grave occupants, while they were dead.

How can you allege racism when the race of the cops and the ComEd people was not relayed in this story? There are serious incidences of racism in this country, please do not abuse the label by using it so freely.

I knew there was going to be Obama bashing on this one..that's why i checked it out. This high and mighty, self-righteous republican from the mighty and self-righteous state of Arkansas is condemning us all to hell because this state is where our president is from. And how do you know that Obama would have reacted that way? It's one thing to judge someone's actions after the fact, but to speculate for the purpose of denigrating someone's character is not only flawed, but ignorant and holds no validity.

Yes we all none of this happens in any other city. And we have another moron here involving Obama in a story that has nothing to do with him.

Theres no question obama is a crooked false god bent on the destruction of freedoms, forcing the support from hard working middle class on up of the lazy slobs and illegals looking for handouts.....

But even I will admit he has no place in this story.

Normally I'm very pro police because I realize the general public has no real clue on what goes on but I will say this seems like lazy police work or something is fishy.

Geez, a dressed body in a burial vault. Bet his family had spent $$$ on a nice box for him. Just another "opportunity" for the Cemetery folks to make some money RESELLING the casket. Who's the wiser, except for the next funeral director who got a great deal on a nice box, or the original funeral director may have even resold it himself. This corruption goes MUCH farther than the four workers. Alsip police did ivestigate, COUNTY officials including the coroner also signed off. No one looked at the financial crime aspect at that time. Alsip is not Mayberry, but it does not have the investigative resources of Cook County Sheriff or the State's Attorney's financial crimes folks. What the heck did the county Hiway department have to offer? Haven't seen why they were in the decision loop.(recommendation on a good backhoe maybe?) Perhaps rather than ignoring the problem, no one wanted to open that can of worms and be accused of singling out a "Black Cemetery" for attention. You could have had all the usual folks out there ranting about police interference and prejudice BECAUSE they chose to proceed and wanted to disturb graves to investigate the problem.

The Alsip police acted with gross negligence. I feel sorry for Alsip residents.

Two wrongs don't make a right. This horror at Burr Oak was only multiplied by the Alsip police department. They simply refused to do their job and now must face the consequences. You can't pick and choose what case you like, they are ALL important to someone. The Alsip police department dropped the ball and now are squirming to find a way out.
