I think the idea is awesome. All churchs should welcome the "come as you are" policy but they don't. It's all about money and prestige and church dogma. I cannot remember the last year I heard any preacher mention God - let alone talk about HIM. Isn't that what church is all about?

I'd much rather smell barnyard boots than $1000 perfume. Animals smell better and they are far more honest about what they want.

I visited www.cowbowcn.org and was invited to watch the cowboy church video. Instead of a video I was introduced to CBN Christian radio and admonished to sign-up to see the video.

Not for me. I noticed several years ago when I stopped signing up for email and website entry I stopped getting SPAM and viruses in my mail. If Jeff Smith wants to do that then he needs to run his own trustworthy servers and stop trusting servers that are run by persons who have an ulterior motive.

As for CBN, the only thing that used to interest me is the old "Rock-er" turned preacher from New Orleans. I think his name is Jesse Duplantes. I'd pay to see him at a cowboy church.. Jesse and cowboys think a lot alike. It would be something to see in person.

I hope Jesse and Jeff read this.

Haven't seen people dress up for church in probably 20 years.

At the Baptist church I regularly attend, there's lots of slacks and jeans. Also very few ties for men and no hats worn by women.

But if someone wants to worship God wearing dirty jeans with cowshit on their footwear - more power to them.
