The illegal aliens came here in the states for a reason, and most of their reasons are because they are struggling in their country. These people just don't go here for some random reason. They went here because they couldn't support their family back home. From 3rd world countries, people view America as a "rose garden". They feel that people here don't struggle and don't go hungry like their country. You can ask why can't they just go here in the states legally. But what we don't really understand is that processing papers for citizenship will cost 75% of their current savings. Aside from the fortune they have cost, their is no assurance that they would get their visa. These people are desperate. They neeed their jobs. The thing that annoys me most is why people think that they are burdens to this country? Actually they are beneficial for us citizens of the United States. For hours each day they work twice more than we do and get payed half than we do. They don't have medical insurance, hardly enough money to sustain themselves if they ever get ill. I believe that this country is very understanding and loving. Why won't we just be hospitable and grant these people full citizenship then finally close the border after.

So they're struggling in their country? So some they sneak into US, get free medical care in California, and steal social security cards. What about middle-class, poor American citizens whose ancestors legally entered US, learned to speak English, and became citizens? We work, pay taxes, and many cannot afford work-sponsored medical insurance for our own families, yet we have to finance welfare and medical programs that some illegals expect. There are US Vets who defended our country in war denied Social Security disability, older disabled people who worked 40-plus years denied disability, American families working and living in poverty; Americans eking by trying to live on Social Security along with part-time job who are in desperate situations. My ancestors came over legally, gladly learned English, worked, and neither wanted nor expected free health care, or public assistance. They scrimped and saved to apply for citizenship and become Americans the legal way. They were proud of themselves, and the fact they had escaped poverty in their native land.

The bureaucrats in Congress making decisions regarding amnesty for illegals don't even pay into social security, they have gov't pensions, and many legal tax breaks. They and some of the illegals are the real parasites on society.

Many of the illegals I know entered here and never asked for public assistance so I don't know what you're talking about. They're working precisely so that they don't have to apply for Welfare or free food stamps. And they're trying to learn the English language. Their children are already fluent in the English language thanks to the wonderful schools here.

Here is but one of the many studies showing that the illegal immigrants are actually a burden on this country. http://www.cis.org/articles/2004/fiscalexec.h...

Now, if people from these countries view America as a rose garden, as you say, then why do they refuse to assimilate upon their entrance into the country? Why do a great number wish to change the American way into the ways of their old country?

You say that they work twice what Americans do for half as much? So they work 16-20 hours a day everyday?
And that they work for half as much is a myth. Do a little experiment for me. Go to a work site, or gathering place for illegal workers and see just what they will work for. I assure you, I have talked with many of these people and they won't work for half of what we make.

Onto your no insurance theory. In a slanted sort of way, you are right. Many of them don't have medical insurance, but then again, many native American's don't either. But why pay for insurance when the hospitals and ER's aren't allowed to turn people away, and the illegal immigrant can walk through the door and be treated at no cost? The ER can't track or prove who these people are, so they can't very well collect the money from them, now can they?
Which brings up another point. I know you have heard the stories about ER's closing their doors around the country because of this problem. The hospital's simply can't afford to operate the ER's anymore because they are overrun with illegal's who won't pay for the services provoded.

Finally, why on earth would we give full citizenship to a group of people who deliberately broke our laws by coming into the country illegally? That argument is similar to saying that we should allow any group of lawbreakers, whether it be burglars, drug offenders, whatever to be granted amnesty or forgiveness if enough of them complain about the laws or protest loud enough.

Now I agree that they came here for a better life, but they must do it properly. Circumventing the system is unacceptable, and unfair to the people who wait their turn.

It's not discrimination against Mexicans. It is a dislike for all illegal aliens -- no matter what ethnicity, religion, race, etc. I don't care if you're an illegal from Mexico, from Ireland, from Guatemala, from Poland, from Sweden, or from Mars, I want you to go back! NOW!

You're the same as an illegal alien -- illiterate and uneducated. Nothing to be proud of, that's for sure.

would you do the work illigal alliens are doing now???? I bet you dont. Since most Americans do anything they can not to have to work hard, there are serious lags in those industries that require hard menial labor, if you remove the only population wanting to take those jobs we will see our economy crash and burn.

This argument is based on nothing more than stupidity, yet it is the most common. I hate to tell you this, but Americans have been doing these jobs for many, many years prior to the invasion. They now can't work the jobs because the employers hire illegal workers at lower wages, wages that are below the poverty level.
You speak for yourself when you say that Americans will do anything they can not to work hard, don't lump all of us in there with you lazy bums.
You should probably get out from under the propaganda machine that is CNN and do a bit of research on your own. You will see that this invasion is a problem for our country.

Equally equal? Redundancy?
Why can't you people understand? It is not about Mexicans. It is about illegal aliens. It just so happens that there are more Mexican ilegals than anything else.

Are you living in a parallel universe? Read any of the reports/studies that have come out about illegals and their dependency on government hand-outs. Wake up man, open your eyes to this thing called reality. Not all of the illegals are on welfare, not all of them speak only spanish, but they are still illegally in the country so anything else is a non-issue.
