I'm writing to request a living room makeover for my son. He is a dedicated Detroit Firefighter who has faced some huge obstacles in the past few years. Soon after completing the Detroit Firefighter Academy he was layed off for 1.5 years. It was a great day for him when he was called back. He truly wants to work in this service-oriented profession. He had almost completed one year when he was diagnosed with a brain tumor. He has now been off the job for 6 months. He purchased a small bungalow 2 years ago. A "fixer uper" as they say. He has not been able to to any major work to it because of the circumstances he has endured. It would mean so much to our family if you could give him a comfortable space which he can enjoy. Thanks for your time. My email address is reneekoehn@yahoo.com.

Hello,

If you were to ask anyone in Dothan, Alabama that knows my husband David Patterson, you would get the same response. He is a hard worker, honest & giving person. David has for the last 25+ years worked 60 + hours a week to support his family. He then lays ceramic tile and other side jobs at night and on the weekends. He always has a "waiting" list of people calling wanting him to do their home improvement jobs. He is never short of jobs,,,he only has a shortage of hours that one person can work in a day.

We lived in our first home for 20 years. In August 2006, we purchased our second home across town. So far, we have built a privacy fence, an electrical workshop, put hardwood floors in foyer & hallway. I have painted all the rooms in the house. David has come behind my painting and put up the crown molding. He made all the corner blocks with a design he created. We just finished putting up vinyl siding and starting planting flowers.
However, we have one major project left; the back porch.*Request*
I would love to have your program's opinion/help.
Deserving Design would be more than welcomed. Our back porch is an enclosed curved glass walls & ceiling. This room has a hot tub down the stairs off our den, which leads out to the back yard.
This room stays warm/hot and hotter as the summer months start, year round, because of the glass walls and ceiling. If you ever come to Dothan Alabama you would surely be welcomed. Thank YOU,contact me Janese@rbcdothan.org

Hello Vern,

I would like to say my mother Mary Jo and I have enjoyed your designs every time we have seen them on the television. I would like to ask for some help any way possible. Weather its from a email, or example I would enjoy reading or seeing in person. I love my mother to death but financial we are unable to decorate the house the way we would like too. our back yard is still dirt and we have been here for 7 years. Any advice to improve our home on a budget is appreciated. Thank you for your time.

Sincerely,

Bianca Harmon

Dear Vern,
My grandmother is a big fan of your show. I don't know if you can help my grandparents or not. My Grandparents would like to build a new master bedroom suite. The problem is they have no money to do it with. Currently their bedroom is on the second floor, up a steep set of stairs. They both have had some major health problems (so no money) that made climbing the stairs impossible. We put a bed in the livingroom (which is small and not very private). They both work just to catch up. They are very active in the community and anyone deserves a new bedroom its these two people. My grandmother has even drawn up a set of plans but saids she is just dreaming. Please help me help them. Thank You Heather Hayslip

please help me by giving something back to the heroe of my life and others.

Hello Vern, I can't tell you how many tears your show has caused me ,but in a good way. I love your show. I love to see all the happy and teary faces you show after their make overs.I would like you to help me surprise my 13 year old daughter, both of my girls were born at 6 months, but my oldest got cibral pasly, unfortunately she can't walk and is in a wheelchair. She has been through so much and always with a happy smile and good attitude. They are my entire life. I would like you to help us or give us ideas on a handicap bathroom for her. Something to make life easier on her and easier for me to help her. Right know I'm doing all the lifting, and it's getting harder on my back. The older she's getting the harder is becoming for me. We should be getting our house by mid March. I would love to hear from you soon.
Sincerely,
Lupe Juarez:)

Hello Vern, I would like to tell you about my partner. We are both nurses and we met in Nursing school. We have been together for 12 years. Vicky came into this relationship and helped me raise my boys then 7 and 10 years old, we have worked hard and bought a home with a mortgage of course. Now besides the stressful job of caring for geriatric patients in an under staffed under paid job my partner agreed to take in my father who has early dementia and cannot live alone any longer. We have 10 beautiful grandchildren and my partner loves to cook for the whole family but our kitchen needs to be updated desperately and for all her hard work and unselfishness I would like to give her a new kitchen. Unfortunately I cannot do it on my own. I might add my partner had already raised her own children and was a grandmother when we met and still came into our life and loved my children as her own. We are blessed with love but time and money are another issue. Please help me make her dream come true. Thanks for the chance to make this request. You do wonderful work and You have helped a lot of deserving people. Sincerely Sally
