I heard that the new overpass on 157 and Camp Jackson Road is going to have its name changed to "Martin Luther King Avenue" I'm surprised this hasn't happened sooner.

I think that is crazy! That over pass has been going up since 1961 that I know of, when I was a baby and my Grandparents bought a house in St. Joe why should that be named after a black person? When in 1961 they where going to build it and Cahokia was all White. name it after a white man or woman. Dont the blackes have enough? They took the town over and it went to hell. Haven't they been given enough? White names!White names! Give something back to the WHITE MAN in Cahokia.

You go Up In Ya. I remember waiting for 30 years for that over-pass to come about. I doubt it will happen now either. If it did they should name it Camp Jackson Over-pass. Martin Luther King-lol.

I say name it after like the Jarret Mansion-which was named after one of the founding families of Cahokia. Jarret Overpass! If that isn't good enough, remember that land was actually American Indian land and should be named in their honor. Up in YAs granddaddy was indian (Cherokee) I believe and he was a wonderful man. I say name it after Mr. Joe Up IN Yas grandaddy. I remember a man named Buster who always looked forward to that being built, name it the Buster Over-Pass.

1 Answer: If you meet that person, let us all know who it is, because we have never had one in this town. |
I guess it will remain nameless because there is no one that fits that description. |

maybe they can let the klu klux klan adopt it. i'm sure they wouldn't have a hard time naming it
but i bet some people in cahokia would think twice about misusing it and run some of the nimrods out of the town/ black or white, mainly blk |
