Bridgeport man charged with selling fake jewelry in Stamford

Stamford police traveled to Wiscasset, Maine, Wednesday to arrest a 40-year-old man they say allegedly sold gold-plated chains to several Stamford jewelers this February.

Didn't know Jose Grant was in the practice of buying their jewelry from carpetbaggers. Their stuff is totally overpriced anyway. Better check anything you've purchased from them. So now Jose Grant got ripped off. Karma is great!

I can not believe that a knowledgeable jeweler fell for this scam...!from a guy from the street...!You should be selling hot dogs in the corner and not precious gems...!You know nothing about jewelery..!

I guess these are not reputable jewelers. I have brought things to be appraised for insurance purposes at jewelry stores and they tested everything, Did these guys just look and say Yup it's gold..If they did they deserve to be taken ...very poor business men. If anyone has bought any diamonds or gold from them I would take it somewhere to be tested, These guys sound like the type who would take a ring in to be re- sized or repaired and change the diamond( only takes a second)..Buyer beware!
