Mayfield part 3

Kids that grew up when I did had places to go in Mayfield. There was Hills, the old DQ. and we sit around town and talk to our friends. Where do they go now? That is why kids get in trouble there is no place for them to hang out and be with their friends. There used to be the plaza not anymore. They let the MEXICANS take over out there on CUBA road. Folks I do not want to see my grandkids to have to move away because of some goof balls running this town. The C of C is not doing nothing to help. Our public leaders is not doing nothing at all. The money they got for the sewers in Mayfield will it take all of it? Could we use some of it for our KIDS? Build a place for them to go to be with their friends. Look at the places off of the bypass. This place would keep our kids off streets and having a good time to. They think something is coming by the bypass but I do not think so because they are asking to much money for the land. WAKE UP LEADERS or GET OUT. Mayfield is dying some and doing good for the others. WAKE UP LEADERS or GET OUT!

None of our LEADERS want to talk about it.

So what is your point? Last time I checked Hill's is still there and so is the plaza...... Put you money where you lousy mouth is - build something!!!!!!

the "plaza" is a dustbowl nothing but an unwanted shoe store and a couple resturants and a thrifty store.
was better when you have variety in mayfield not just stupid walmart. remember down town in the day at christmas? wtf happened? it looks like a joke no stores but a huge unneeded CVS. gone to hell is what it did.

Well, I see that the city appoints Jon Redd to the council to take Crouch seat. Well he went to Mayfield and played football. He has a degree in Social and Behavioral Science. Mayfield is going to the science project. What does the other councilman have to say? The only one that talks is Byrn and Myers. They are at it over insurance. Well back to the Redd thing, the mayor wanted him and he got him. Dame if I had a degree in PE I could run the city to. I guess it only takes a degree. I got a degree in calling hogs, does that count?

Please all of yall from the mayor down to the dog catcher get out. Yall are not doing nothing. I think some of the councilmen are scard to say anything. Hell you are then you need to get out. Do not let 2 or 3 run things. That is what they want. If yall do not have the b---s then get out. Sound off like you have a pair.

Don't wait on government either local or state to solve all the problems you see. All they will do is screw it up. Hillbilly, if you see a problem,(and I agree it is a problem that the teens have nowhere to safely hang out in this town) be a leader and get others involved to solve the problem. The city doesn't have the desire or funds to do anything. I will take individuals pitching in to solve the problem. But what ever is done it will have to be self sustaining or it will become another problem.

You have a city planner, I would say he gets paid well. It looks like to me that would be his JOB. Or what is his JOB?

I grew up in Grave Co , went to school at Lowes
and graduated in 80. County kids hung out at Lowes,
Symsonia, Fancy Farm, ect. Even then they were running us out of the plaza and from around the square. They had a few trys at recreation centers,
but they never lasted very long. I have teenagers
now at GCHS and they have no place to go. At least we had our school town hangouts where we wouldn't get ran off. Now it's pretty common for the city
police to stop and ticket anyone, especially young people. I guess thats how they make money. My point on all of this is that it's been bad and getting worse since I was a kid. Hillbilly I bet my dads about your age and he worked at GT all his life too. He tells me about when Mayfield was good
like you remember. I wish I had seen it that way.
I agree we need a whole new bunch of leaders and have as long as I can remember. I guess it's like
alot of places around the country. It's hard to get rid of the people in power who are making all the money. Just my thoughts anyway. I wish i had the answer.

You see it is like this. Our country is being run on WALL STREET. Our Local LEADERS they want to be one of the BIG SHOTS. USA has owners and what they say goes. It is not the white house or DC. The owners tells them what to do. These leaders we have around here they want to be like them. They want to call the shots their way. It takes a TEAM not just a certain few. See thin get over bush dude he wants somebody to give up their own time to solve the problem. AND HE GETS PAID FOR IT. He does not want to do nothing except draw a paycheck.

The City Planner doesn't have much authority on spending issues. They usually are dealing with zoning issues. This is the case in the city where my business is located.

Zoning. LOL, everbody knows where the city starts and ends. You said he does not have authority. Then why does he gets paid to draw a line on paper to tell everybody where the city limits is? You see folks they waste money. I dont even know who he is but I think he is Byrns SIDE KICK. Pet Monkey.
