A popular Bacon County doctor was found dead in his bed Sunday by sheriff's deputies called to check on him.

We lost a loved one almost a year to the day this happend.That is all I have to say about that,what you see on the outside, might not be the whole picture!!!!

That was MY LOVED ONES 'DOCTOR' if you would like to call him that...I have a few issues with some things he done,should I say over did.The Person I lost was my WHOLE heart and soul,I miss dearly everyday,all day.Nothing can even begain to heal what was broken one year ago.Until someone is put in our shoes don't be so quick to say what you would do.I don't wish what my family has been through on noone at anytime,Not a day goes by that it is not on my mind and then this happens and it just put so much more doubt in our minds.I just think there is alot that might be told now that Perry has passed on!No disrespect on the Passing,but there is alot that goes on behind doors in Doctors offices that you can't even begain to believe..I didn't until I seen it with my own two eyes.

Perry was a good man, and he will be greatly missed. He had been my family's doctor for the past 18 years. He saved my life and the life of my unborn son (serious pregnancy complication) on numerous occassions. If it wasn't for Perry I would not have a health 16 year old son today. He has also saved the life of my grandfather who will be turning 96 this coming April 14. I thank god for him being the kind of doctor he was.

My thoughts and prayers goes out to his family. His mother passed away the week before. I can't imagine the pain and heart ache the must be feeling all over again.

this is for the potty mouth in Yulee, i am so sorry to hear about your father passing but how do you honestly know that it was due to "Docs" doings? I am related to Perry and you may still be grieving over your father but how do you think my family feels. You never expect someone in your family to pass and everyone wants to blame everyone else for the cause. It was a very sudden tragic way for anyone to die, his kids are suffering and along with me and my family. Do you think making negative remarks about someone that you only knew from doctors visits will bring back your father? i wanted to shout at everyone when it happened, i wanted to blame everyone and was asking WHY? But blaming other people was not going to bring him back. I miss him dearly and bad mouthing him will not bring your father back either. If you still have this much hostilaty towards someone, you may need to pray to GOD for help. I really feel sorry for you.

When I first read this I said why are they calling me a potty mouth.I then reread what I posted and yes you could call me a potty mouth.Let me say that I am truly sorry for be so mean and hateful.The last year wihout my Dad has been the worst year of my life.And yes I do pray for some peace!You are correct in saying that things could have been the other way,but in no way was it to hurt anyone.I guess having a bad day will make you do and say things that you would not other wise.

I also have to agree that Dr. Streat was a great doctor and friend. He saved my moms life one January afternoon. If it hadn't of been for his genuine concern and quick thinking my mom prob would not be here today. Because of him my mom had emergency open heart surgery and lived. We to miss him. He is missed greatly by hundreds of people, family, friends, co-workers alike. Yes, there are those who didn't like him, but then again there are those people who don't like me. I'm so grateful that I knew him.

I was saddened to hear of Perry's passing... I never knew him as a doctor (that was after I left Alma) but I knew him as a pharmacist and can without a doubt say that he was a great one...
