Winter utility bills might push us to boiling point

It looks like we'll be singing the home-energy blues again - maybe at a more fevered pitch.

Must be a slow news day for the ABJ to start one of these utility terror stories so early.

Already locked in my winter rate. Was keeping an eye on the Apples to Apples chart. Dominion East Ohio Energy was $13.50/MCF on 6/18 and jumped to $14.79 on 6/22. I locked in on 6/22. The good part about Dominion East Ohio Energy ... If the price goes down after you are locked in they will let you change to the lower rate without extending your contract. A couple of years ago they let me switch to a lower rate three times during the winter.

I have heard estimates that natural gas will hit $20.00+ MCF this winter ... So ... Lock in now !!

lets see, ken lay was a close friend of george bush and their friend was phil grahmm who successfully deregulated how commodities such as energy were traded and now every single fixed cost that the avererage joe has has doubled or tripled since bush has been in office. looks like the the bush administration can now say mission accomplished. we have been absolutely screwed. this seems like something that would happen in russia or something. i would like to thank all of the stupid, brainwashed, macho, conservatives for voting for all this crap for the last 2 decades. most of you are getting screwed also but you are to damned stupid and pridefull to admit or even understand what you have done. this country and what it meant to us has been destroyed by you with your hours of listening to rush slimeball and the rest of the cheerleaders that brainwashed you into your macho superior mindset. all so fewer rich people can get even richer. the american dream has been ruined. i would like to thank all of our corporate leaders for outsourcing millions of jobs to communist china and the third world so that they can compete with us for oil and food. what you have coming to you is not pretty. i say get out of the country and live in china or the third world you traders.

Raising rates is one thing.

Collecting the bill, well, that's altogether another.

I say hang the energy market speculators. They are the ones causing all the terrific rise in natural gas and oil prices. There are no shortages or market pressures to justify these type of increases. We can only hope that BHO makes this his highest priority once he gets into his WH office in January 2009. If not, we middle class will all be broke by next April 2009.

Uh - yes there is a shortage. The world produce 84 million barrels a day and consumes 83. It is called supply and demand.

Read this article by msn.http://www.msnbc.msn.com/i d/25412133/ Obama is not going to do anything. Why can't McCain or Obama do something for America NOW? They are senators right now. Why can't either one make a stand for the American people right now? Why do we have to wait for one of them to be elected president? Who or what is holding them back? He has been a state senator and has not done anything but helped special intrest groups. He will be to busy helping the gays get equal rights to worry about our utility bills. He allready said the price of gasoline should be a little bit higher. Here is a quote from the article. Michelle Obama also drew a connection between the struggles for gay rights and civil rights. "We are all only here because of those who marched and bled and died, from Selma to Stonewall, in the pursuit of a more perfect union," she said at the event, held days before the anniversary of the 1969 Stonewall riots between gays and New York police, and the city's annual gay pride parade. "The world as it is should be one that rejects discrimination of all kinds," she said. Michelle Obama just sold out the civil rights movements for $1.3 million. Martin Luther King Jr. died for a group a people's freedoms. The stonewall riots were for a group of perverts rights to give eachother constipation.

Uh, did you even read the moronic greedy reasons for the horrid increase expected in natural gas coming up and can you fathom that natural gas and oil are two different things? I like how they used this past cold winter to increase the upcoming winter prices...gee, Ohio, never been cold as it has this winter, oh no, not Ohio, we would never expect a cold winter...never...they musta thought global warming came to Ohio when they planned for last winters' supply...aye?

I understand the part about the market speculators, but where do you get that BHO has the testicular fortitude or the brains to step up to the plate with a solution with the oil problem putting this country in a major sh*thole? I haven't even seen a remote hint that this would happen if he got to the wh, nor is there a lick of proof he gives a fat rats' a*s about the working man. Anyone can pitch to the working stiff, it don't mean jack.

Yeah, OK. Who deregulated the public utility companies? Your idol, Slick Willie. This has caused the largest increase in prices in decades for natural gas and electricity. But of course, some blinders can't see past January 2001 when Bush was sworn into office. I forgot the nineties were full of calm seas, blue skies and low utility rates. Though we saw an artificial market bubble bust, tech stocks go belly up, office of the president disgraced by an impeached president. terrorist attacks against American interests at home and abroad and no response by a cowardly administration, and so the story goes.

Your secondary idols, the dems in congress need to get off their fats duffs and allow new exploration of natural gas and oil. They handcuff the energy companies from new discoveries. This helps to ensure shortage of on-hand supplies and drives up prices. "We can't allow drilling, it may hurt a gnat on the end of some polar bear's tail, it may make an elk move 1/2 mile away to feed, it may ruin the picturesque view from Martha's Vineyard, blah, blah, blah." This discussion shouldn't even be taking place since global warming is such a current and drastic event the world wide. Shoot, it was so warm last winter because of global warming, I nearly froze off my fingers to name only a few things.

Push us to the boiling point? ALREADY THERE!!!
