Mr. Carpenter, your article is a travesty. Essentially, you are saying that Fumo deserved this ridiculously light sentence because other, worse (or similar) crooks did little time. What flawed logic! Ask yourself this question: Would you have gotten only 55 months in prison if you had been convicted of the same crimes as Fumo? If your answer is no, Fumo's sentence was not long enough. It is high time we start lowering the boom on corrupt politicians who steal from the electorate. Captital punishment and forfeiture would be a good start.

You must remember that this LIGHT FXXING sentence is a payback for the pay increase the courts got. And I am sure that when mr fat eddie is on his way out, he will pardon this POE.

The other day I was trying to remember the name of that "TWIT" that stuck a gun in his mouth during a news conference - Thanks Paul.

Are you kidding me!?!? Yes his sentence was too lenient. You're right in saying that the other corrupt politicians you mentioned should have received more prison time but your argument is that since the judicial system was broken when they were sentenced that it should remain broken. Sorry that doesn't fly.

Mr. Carpenter, you should be ashamed for describing Budd Dwyer's suicide as "a favor" to us. I'm sure it wasn't seen as "a favor" to the numerous children who saw him do it on live TV. I can understand your pride in seeing some of the corrupt politicians you wrote about go down, but your gleeful take on the loss of a man's soul is despicable.

You should read Paul's article again . I don't think he meant Fumo should get the lenient sentence all the other crooks in pa Gov. got. It was an article with tongue in cheek as how all politicians in pa are legal crooks and have friends in high places to get off the hook. I saw Dwyers live speech on TV. Even the fatal shot. He likely would have got as lenient a sentence as all the crooks in pa, but he made his choice and said "no I thought this all out" and bang. He controlled his own way out.
The easy way now is scandal, bribery or serve one year at a rest camp and get out for good behavior and go right back to the way things were always done in Pa.
