Now Mrs. Clinton is trying to portray herself as a gun'toting, shot-drinking good ole girl.

This is bizarre. As for being elite, it is she who grew up upper middle class, not Obama. Obama's mom resorted to food stamps from time to time. He worked at Burger King and Baskin Robbins after school....he didn't make $109 million in seven years.
As usual, she goes out of control with her criticisms. Then she starts telling fibs about her life, and then shoots herself in the foot when she gets caught.
Watch for this whole manufactured controversy to backfire on her. Just watch.

So Hillary lies about being shot at, but Obama tells the truth about rednecks.... why does Obama need to apologize???

We need DRASTIC change at the top, not another 4 years of lying Clintons with no morals.

Hate to say it, but Obama was correct. I find it rather amusing that peopel feel "insulted" by his remarks. Fact is, truth hurts.

When was the last time a politician cared about the small towns of Pa.?
Do you think cheesesteak rendell cares? The only place he cares about is Filthadelphia. He doesn't waddle far from the southeast area. Scranton may be able to lure the beast with cheesesteaks dripping with extra sauce, but I doubt it.

The small towns; All they have is guns and religion.....otherwise, they are the forgotten.

Is every white person a redneck? In Pennsylvania no less!
Obama can't even admit that he was wrong about anything. It's always someone misquoting him, or taking every thing out of context, or we are just too stupid to admit he is right.
He is a pompous, insulting elitist - whether he wishes to admit it or not.
Spare me the explanations.

Then why are so many people leaving the sophistication and civilization of the great cultural centers of our wonderful big cities and moving to the small towns?
Do you think it is because they like rednecks, especially the ones in Pennsylvania?

Are you referring sir to the nomads who leave NYC/NJ/Philly and create here the very thing that they left behind? Blight, crime and traffic?

By and large, the small towns are the forgotten. No industry. No meaningful employment unless it's it's a low wage job. For example, do you think a company like Air Products, Nikon or Mack Trucks is going to be lured to a town like Troy, Pa.?

The poverty level is considered living like a king in many parts......

obama is as phoney as a $3 bill and as sharp as a bowling ball!

obama is soros' circus geek and will do anything that he tells him to!!! soros has given obama $230,000,000 through his socialist web hatesites to try and buy his boy the election!

America is waking up to obama's racism, lies, and socialist agenda!!!

But what I know - obama say I just a "typical" "rich White" who is "angry and bitter" and "racist" because We have "guns" and believe in "Christianity"!!!

Ask obama why he strongarmed an Ohio judge to keep black only precincts open an extra 2 hours in Cuyahoga county - and not the White precincts!!! obama is as bigoted as one can get!

Not surprising since he sat in racist preacher wright's church for 20 years listening to him rant his racism against Whites & jews!!!

The whole thing seems like a non-issue. Whether it is Pennsylvania, Indiana, or anywhere else in the world, it is a fact that when economic times are tough we get anxious and into an us vs. them mentality. I just don't see why this has anything to do with being condescending or elitist. I don't think government is ever going to be useful in helping. We shouldn't have to pay taxes if we don't get anything useful to us in return.

Clinging to our guns is a fundamental right given to us as protection from the government. Not so strange that the government would like to take that right away?

Are African-American urban citizens bitter?

Do they cling to their religion because they are bitter about their government and their pathetic lives?

Do they cling to welfare because they are bitter about their government and their pathetic lives?

Do they cling to their music because they are bitter about their government and their pathetic lives?

Do they cling to their drugs because they are bitter about their givernment and their pathetic lives?

Do they drop out of school because they are bitter about their government and their pathetic lives?

Do they cling to their guns because they are bitter about their government and their pathetic lives?

Remember where is most of the gun violence, rural PA or killadelphia, Detroit, D.C,? Who's bitter?

Isn't stereotyping people fun? Isn't downplaying people's faith fun? It sure is for all of you Obama supports who cry every time someone says something that hurts your feelings, but you dismiss it when someone insults rural whites.

But, I guess you know what insults rural whites and what doesn't, right?

I live in small town America, I love it here.
I am 60 miles from a major city if I want to take a risk and go to culture events.
We own two rifles. They are used during hunting season to fill our freezer for the lean times, As our forefathers did. We also plant gardens to stock our shelves.
My children can go outside to play and not worry about being shot at. They can walk to school or the local store with out worry. If they do something wrong in public I will know about it before they get home.
My hubsand and I make a good living.
We are not bitter and neither are my neighbors.
We may be rednecks, which means we enjoy fishing, BBQ's, small town school sports and just the simple things in life.
I know People that live in big Cities and they are BITTER and SCARED.
Obama got it wrong, He has no idea what he is talking about. Clinton has no idea what she is talking about. neither one has ever went hungry or went without designer clothes. They have never stressed over paying thier bills of seeing a doctor. They have never been at the level of common america to understand what they are talking about.
We need a democratic in there that is in touch with true america and not just the rich america.

The characterization of small-towners as bitter is only one of the offensive comments made by Sen. Obama. When he called us racist, xenophobic, anti-immigration, gun-slinging religious zealots, he showed his true colors and his ignorance.
Sen. Obama, maybe you should have told those uber-wealthy San Franciscans what was right with middle America instead of what was wrong with it when you were on that fund-raising visit. This "small" incident could very well cost you the White House.
You're not doing a good job unifying the country as you pledged to do, Sen. Obama. And why in the world would we wait for the government to solve our problems? Oh well, what do hicks like us know anyway? Maybe we spend too much time on the firing range.
